Nash makes her explosive public debut as the new Mist, and now Jack Knight must run a gauntlet of her fiendish allies to reach his Star Staff. To make sure no one interferes with her plans, the Mist takes steps against Mikaal the alien, Solomon Grundy, and an unsuspecting Ted Knight...

This issue begins Sins of the Child, sequel to Sins of the Father, the arc that introduced Jack Knight created by James Robinson, Tony Harris and team Starman; and, introduced the denizens of Opal City. Nash returns, on a murderous spree this issue, as successor to her father just as Jack is to his father. Jack's Day (The First Half) starts outside the Opal City couthouse, with Ted congratulating his son on being exonerated in Kyle's death. Back at the observatory, they're both surprised when Mikaal and Grundy disappear. While searching for the pair, Jack encounters Nash and her gang.
