Stark Industries

Stark Industries is a multinational company with facilities in over thirty different countries all over the world. Stark Industries was founded by Howard Stark and taken over by his son Tony Stark, better known as Iron Man, after his death.

History

The company started in the mid 19th century where Tony’s grandfather developed various technology to help the industrial age to move on. This became a huge success and Stark Industries expanded and became a major player in the industrial world around the globe. Howard Stark, son of the before mentioned starter of the company, became an even larger player and started to focus his work on making weapons and ammunitions among other things. But quickly branched out to other fields of technology and science like Robotics and micro-technology.

After the tragic accident which killed Howard Stark, Tony inherited the complete empire with all of its assets. He became the CEO of the company at a young age. Tony focused all his attention on the company to make it even larger and more important than it already was. He made various deals, not only with corporate concerns but government concerns were no exceptions. An important deal, which would proof to be very beneficial for Stark in the future, was a deal with S.H.I.E.L.D. Starks Industries helped develop nearly all of the organizations equipment and even their headquarters, the S.H.I.E.L.D. Heli-carrier.

After his capture by revolutionaries Tony developed a suit of body armor which also started his career as Iron Man and managed to escape. But during his time of captivity he noticed the weapons his company created and manufactured were used for destruction and not just the military who used it, he decided to throw a new leave.

He announced to the world that Stark Industries would no longer be involved with the manufacturing of weapons and focused on other technologies. However, not all bonds were broken and it maintained several lucrative contracts with several clients, like S.H.I.E.L.D. but he never sold the technology for his Iron Man armor. After driving the company to new heights year after year, Tony Stark strengthened the corporation's foreign interests.

Earth 295: Age of Apocalypse

In this reality Apocalypse has taken North America, so Tony Stark lives in Europe and is part of Human High Council. One of the former facilities of his industries serves as obligatory pass of Infernal Gallop, the Ghost Dance cult leading by John Proudstar.

• Stark Industries was featured in the 1990s Iron Man TV series. In this show, Julia Carpenter (the second Spider-Woman) is also depicted as the head of Stark Industries' Research and Development.
• A Stark Enterprises building can be seen in the X-Men: Evolution episode "On Angels' Wings".
• Stark International is featured in Iron Man: Armored Adventures. After Howard Stark was abducted by the Mandrarin in a plane crash, Obadiah Stane becomes CEO of Stark Industries. In "Cold War," it is revealed that Blizzard used to work for Stark Industries until an accident caused by Obadiah Stane left him "deformed and destroyed." In "Designed Only for Chaos," Roberta Rhodes revealed to Tony that Stark Industries used to make weapons until Howard Stark stopped their production when Tony was born.
• Stark Industries is featured in The Super Hero Squad Show.

Film

• The 2008 film Iron Man features the company, with a logo similar to those of Northrop Grumman and Lockheed Martin, and touted as developing many of the same weapons systems that Lockheed Martin is/was responsible for developing, such as the F-22 Raptor and F-16 Fighting Falcon. After Tony's father Howard died, Obadiah Stane became the CEO and later abdicated when Tony was old enough to run it. After Stark comes back from Afghanistan, he announces that he is closing the weapons division of the company. In Iron Man 2, In the absence of Obadiah Stane, Virginia "Pepper" Potts became the CEO of the Stark Industries.

• In The Incredible Hulk movie, Stark Industries logo flashes on the screen during the opening credit sequence when General Ross request to the company the Sonic Cannon that the army use against the Hulk later in the movie and it is also on the Cyrosync container containing the Super Soldier Serum.

Tony Stark, then former-CEO of Stark industries, has a cameo appearance, in which he tells the General about the team 'they're' putting together.

• In 2010, Stark Industries appeared again in the film Iron Man 2. As a promotion for the film, at the 2009 San Diego Comic Con, Stark Industries recruiters handed out business cards with an invitation to apply for a job at Stark Industries by visiting StarkIndustriesNow.com.Furthermore, on May the 7th 2010, in Flushing Meadows, Stark Industries, for the first time since 1974, hosted their renowned Stark Expo.

Video games

• Stark Industries appears in The Punisher video game. The Eternal Sun group raid the company to steal the Iron Man armors.

• In The Incredible Hulk video game, it was mentioned that Stark Industries built the Hulkbuster armors.
