Starhaven is a planet colonized by humans from Earth during the 23rd century. The people are of Anasazi Indian heritage, and they're appearance and customary attire still closely reflect this.

Back in the 13th century, members of the Anasazi tribe were abducted from Earth by mysterious aliens for unknown reasons. Relocated in the center of the Milky Way galaxy to a planet now named Starhaven, making the Anasazi the first human colonists of the planet.

Anasazi colonists were genetically engineered by the aliens to evolve into a winged race capable of interstellar flight.

The famed Legionnaire Dawnstar comes from Starhaven. Other known denizens of Starhaven consist of Dawnstars family members. Her parents Mist-Rider and Moonwalker, and her younger brothers are Greybird and Greatfire.

In the distant past of the planet Earth, a tribe of Anasazi Indians were taken away into the cosmos. A scientific expedition group of Athranian's, notorious genetic engineers, hoped to use them for lucrative testing.

Unable to complete their plans as they were overthrown by Spider Guild, by fair means or foul, and so the Anasazi tribe were left to their own devices. The genetic experiments endow them with wings and a very few with extra mutations giving them even more wonderous abilities.

Starhaven is governed by a Council of Elders, representing each of the Amerind tribes. The planet has vast spaces of a totally unspoiled environment and the government severely restricts visitors to ensure the planet's continued conservation.
