The secret tale of Darth Wyyrlok
Just how loyal is Darth Wyyrlok to Darth Krayt?
Pros:
Darth Wyyrlok, the faithful servant of Darth Krayt, has his own issue. Like his ancestors before him, he has been watching over Darth Krayt's ailing health trying to discover secrets to extend his life. Compared to characters like Darth Nihl, Darth Maladi, and Darth Talon, Wyyrlok hasn't stand out much, but in this issue, John Ostrander makes sure that his presence is known. Darth Andeddu may have a way to help Darth Krayt, and takes Darth Wyyrlok on an adventure in unknown regions to Darth Andeddu's castle, that tests his will and dedication to Darth Wyyrlok. Without using a lightsaber, Wyyrlok puts the fear into the followers of Darth Andeddu without even trying. Darth Andeddu has an agenda of his own as well, as it is revealed that he is not a holocron, but actually his spirit. This leads to a battle of minds between Darth Wyyrlok and Darth Andeddu.
Omar Franica returns as the guest artist, and I'm certain that he's just as great as Jan Duursema. I love the cover. The illusions that both Darth Wyyrlok and Darth Andeddu make were the best part of the issue which seem so real.
Cons:
I didn't find anything wrong with this issue. This was a great issue to characterize Darth Wyyrlok.
Overall: A fantastic issue. I see Darth Wyyrlok in a better light now. While he is dedicated to Darth Krayt's cause, it's nice to see him have a voice of his own. Now, Celeste Monnre makes her way in the Legacy era in the Vector crossover next issue.
