Entertaining and Good
After the previous arc, (one of the most amazing Star Wars stories I've ever read) I thought that there was no way the comic could possibly keep up with the series's recently high quality. Issue #35 was, to put it simply, a really good comic. It had a twist, action, intensity, a deep story and it changed the KOTOR landscape in a huge way, putting Zayne back on the map. It really took the status quo and turned it on its head. So, I was pretty eager to see what could happen next. Well, as you can see from the title "Entertaining and Good", this issue was both entertaining and good. Issue #36 may not be the big issue that #35 was, but it was still a good read.
The issue starts with a lot of setup, which I don't really mind. This may bug some other people though, because today's society can't deal with a little exposition. Regardless, the long setup may have been a bit boring but the action came in towards the middle and things got going quickly. Also good about this issue was the comedic boss, who's huge body can be seen on the cover of this issue. He was very funny and I actually laughed several times. It's good to see this light hearted issue right after an arc with so much darkness.
Speaking of darkness, the art here is by Bong Dazo, who has done tons of KOTOR books. I've said a lot of things about him and I still don't think he's that great... however, I am starting to like him more as time goes on. I don't know why I'm starting to warm up to his style, but it really has grown on me. While I still prefer Dustin Weaver, this art was... acceptable.
It is good to see that KOTOR is still a fun and entertaining book even with a brand new status quo for our team. I am looking forward to reading future issues in this series.
