    Lots of potential

For a pretty big franchise this origin story seems to be some what under the radar. That's right the Jedi are getting their very own origin story. How is it looking after issue 1? ** spoilers ahead **

    Pros:

The art is solid and consistent.

Xesh has a lot of potential to be a very interesting main character in the anti hero mold. (Although the actual name I'm not a big fan of)

Really enjoyed the dynamic between predors and force hounds, I feel like this is a nice branch out from jedi vs. sith (I'm sure the later dynamic will come in later issues.)

Pacing & Story- Both a strength and a weakness, the book feels like it has three acts. The first few pages with the Dai Bendu really grab you and make you think this is where your story is really going to begin. Then it takes off into a full fledged prologue. This is not a bad thing necessarily but we never get the same climate during the prologue like we did in those first few pages. The prologue moves fast, but does a decent job of informing. Still I am anticipating the whole pyramid aspect to be explained more in ensuing books. The prologue ends when we come to the present day(in the story), with a gap of a few thousand years. The present day story is very different and is not a happy place off of the Jedi home world.

In Star Wars, the stories we know goes into the far future (New Jedi Order, Legacy, Legacy (comics)), But Star Wars never really explore the past. Yes, there's Tales of the Jedi, but what about before Tales of the Jedi? HOW EXACTLY did Jedi and Sith came to be? Who's better to answer these questions than John Ostrander and Jan Duuresema (George Lucas could answer t...
