Star Wars #1 0

Star Wars #1 is the story of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Leia Organa/Skywalker, and Darth Vader following the events of the George Lucas film A New Hope. As Luke and Leia seek out a new home for the Rebellion they are ambushed by Imperial forces, forcing Leia to become an undercover "spykiller." Meanwhile, the Empire rebounds from the devastating loss of the Death Star (which interestingly is put entirely on the shoulders of Grand Moff Tarkin). The first thing I noticed about this book is that I re...

Video Review: Star Wars #1 0

I've never read a Star Wars comic before so what did I think about this issue? I thought good things are happening and I like it!Series takes place after A New Hope and Brian Wood has done a pretty nice job hooking me into this. I honestly didn't know if I was going to like this or not but to my pleasant surprise, I really dug it. I may have to go back and watch Episode 4 again right now....

New Adventures. 0

When I first heard about this new Star Wars series, I really didn’t see the point. I figured that due to other media such as novels, video games, and other comics covered so much between each original movies. A fear I had was continuity issues. Granted, there are some errors or changes I could overlook, but I was afraid that Brian Wood was going to totally rewrite some adventures. After reading this issue, I take it back, and I should have more faith in Brian Wood. This issue is a good starting p...

Not Too Bad For A New Tale 0

Well, this is interesting.Let me give you some Star Wars credentials. I used to play the Collectible Card Game before I even saw the movies. I have seen the original trilogy. I've seen the prequels. Like most older fans I know, I prefer the originals. I can come up with a few quotes and am fairly good at Star Wars trivia. I haven't read any of the books or comics for Star Wars, although that is an excellent way to continue the story. So what drove me to pick up this book? Brian Wood.Wood has been...

Looking for a new home 0

Star Wars may be the franchise that most interested me in my life. Since I was a young boy, nine or ten years old, I remember watching "A New Hope", "Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" and still, when I rewatch these epic movies, the same feellings of rejoice and happiness come along. Strangely, in the opposite way, I was never much into Star Wars comics, read a few issues here and there, but my enthusiasm as a movie fan of the franchise never followed the comic books series (and I kn...

Classic characters, all new adventure! The GoodThis was a great first start to a brand new series! Writer Brian Wood does a great job at this first issue by providing action and classic fan favorite characters. The issue starts the series off with the premise and the state of the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire. Wood does a terrific job with this because he doesn't automatically start with an action packed issue, instead he focuses on the state of the two sides and the bond between the main ch...
