    Not your da's Star Trek

     Onward 1950's Robot

This is a review for the comic that accompanied a read-along record.  The comics in this series were produced far apart from each other and did not keep with the television show or movie very well.   This comic came out between the first and second movie.

This comic was about as star Trek as a Little House On the Prairie.  The first thing I noticed right away was a genuine hatered the Federation characters have for Romulans and Klingons as sworn enemies and blood thirsty.  Anyone who knows Star Trek knows this is not how the characters act not even in the 60's.  This was epidemic with just about all the characters.

Then I noticed right away how characters were not acting like they normally did.  Kirk asking everyone's opions even on the bridge adn Scotty saying "Ach" is every sentence.  These things were minor compared to what came next.

     The Rare Green Romulan
The whole story is about these robots that are being stolen from the Federation and it is believed that they are being taken to be used against the Federation in an attack.  The ting is that the Federation is completely dependent on these robots and are used everywhere.  Even Scotty and McCoy are in desperate need for robots in engineering and sickbay.  Now I have seen and own every episode of Star Trek.  i have never seen a Federation robot.

When the crew of the Enterprise find out who is behind the theft of the Robots they find that it is the Romuals.  The Green Skinned Romulans.  That is right GREEN SKIN Romulans.  These Romulans act like dimwitted bad guys who know they are the bad guys.

This book is nauseating.  Especially for a Star Trek fan.  I wouldn't recommend this book.  I had to give it only a half star for it's complete lack of story, plot and understanding of the universe the story took place.
