    Two red shirts have just been reduced to icosahedrons The original Star Trek series aired during the height of the Cold War, so it's probably not surprising that most of the shows involved the multicultural "melting pot" crew of The Enterprise traveling to worlds ruled by some dictatorial or imperialist government and "freeing" those societies (often with Kirk giving some kind of "Land of the Free and Home of the Brave" type speech at the end. But unlike most adventure series during the Cold War...
