Check out the images taken today (Monday September 13th) on the set of the Captain America: The First Avenger Movie:

Did you notice the sign on that 1940s false storefront? "Excelsior Cigar Shop"
If you are unaware of it, which you shouldn't, the word 'Excelsior' has become somewhat of Stan Lee's catch phrase over the years.

ex-cel-si-or [ik- sel-see-er] higher and upwards

Is this alluding to what Stan Lee's cameo is going to be?
Due to Stan's busy schedule ( I mean he is writing for Boom!), he is unable to meet the crew of the movie in England, which is where they are filming now. Parts of the movie might be filmed in the US, which would be the perfect place for him to film his cameo.
Could the shop sign be telling us something? I mean, maybe Stan could play the cashier of said shop, not all scenes are filmed on the same location..

They can always knock up a set over in the US for a cameo no problems, very nice touch though.

Smoking isn't allowed in Marvel comics anymore... but they can still sneak some fine cigars into the movies :)

@jordama:  Probably, but it would be amazing if that was a reference to Stan's cameo...
@Omega Ray Jay: Yeah that's what I was thinking...
@xerox-kitty: It's the 1940s they can do whatever they want! :P

@mr.drac: When you retcon that he'd been missing, then yeah. It's not like Captain America comics hadn't kept being published after WWII, though.

@mr.drac: Yeah, if he does do a cameo it'll probably be fun, I just wasn't expecting him to.
