Thomas Burke invented a size change formula a century before Henry Pym. Frustrated with a lack of success, he threw the phial containing the formula into the sea, thus adding the missing ingredient- water!

A cryptid species of newt drank the mixture and became Sserpo, an endlessly growing dinosaur-like monster. In the modern era even a hydrogen bomb couldn't stop the endlessly growing monster!

Eventually Henry Burke, great grandson of the original scientist eventually contacted the native race of the giant world of Jupiter who used a skyhook to take Sserpo to their world.
