Isn't it kind of obvious that he should have a healing factor?

I mean the bone spikes ARE piercing the skin after all, he must own a healing ability..

I'm watching X3 and didn't like that he was killed. Although it never specifies that it was him, but him or not, the dude must have a healing ability or else he would die as son as he is pierced by the spikes, right.

I realize its the comic world and all, but still is too obvious..
