See the Review Rating Overview page on my blog for more information on how I rate each comic.

    • Cover & Solicit - 4/5
    • Art, Colors & Inking - 3/5 - Weighted Double
    • Layout & Flow - 5/5
    • Story - 5/5 - Weighted Triple

    Verdict - 4.3 (8.5/10)

This series is not for the faint of heart. Jordan and Strahm do an excellent job of turning up the creepiness factor in this first issue of Spread. While I'm not a fan of Strahm's style its very fitting for this series and the coloring by Sobreiro will give you nightmares about the color red. Jordan is an excellent storyteller and Spread is no exception. In this first issue you get action, intrigue, and the lingering need for more. If you want to read a zombie like, alien parasitic, virus, that thinks human killing is a good time, then you must read Spread.

I didn't like the story that much, but the art was cool.

@madeinbangladesh: I felt the story had promise, the art for me was just so so. Although I've disliked art before and over time it grows on me, hoping this does the same.

The Thing + Saga = One badass comic book 0

Issue one of Spread is a great time. There is not an overload of dialog explaining the how, what, when, where and why and that mixed with the graphic, pulpy artwork makes for a fast paced beginning to a grim comic. It is another comic with a baby on the Image imprint and it certainly has a vibe that screams 1982's classic film 'The Thing'; however, I would argue that this isn't bad and while perhaps not the most original comic written to date it is one hell of a good time. Certainly not for t...
