Spike is a "cowboy" or bounty hunter in the year 2071.He travels through space with his friend Jet on their ship "Bebop."

Spike was born on Mars in the year 2044 A.D. and is a man with a very shadowed past. He was a member of the Red Dragon crime syndicate but left after meeting his one true love Julia. He meet her after being severely injured in a big shoot out on Mars. His arch rival was Vicious who fought alongside him during his membership in the Red Dragon and was Julia's boyfriend before she met Spike. Spike left the Dragon and faked his own death to become a bounty hunter, which soon his reputation became to proceed him. Spike insinuates on three different occasions that he hates (more then anything in the world) children, animals, and women with attitudes. He is very efficient in martial arts; he specializes in Jeet Kune Do, that of the famous 21st century martial artist Bruce Lee. Spike is also proficient in all long rang weaponry. He has a ship named Swordfish II and a gun called Jericho 941. His past is mysterious, but what is known is that he "died" once after Vicious betrayed him and killed him when he came to meet Julia. After his "death" he was healed and his right eye can see the present and his left only sees the past. His way of thinking is more like ancient samurai who only attacked if it needed to be done.

Spike's life was cut short when he died of his wounds after his final fight with Vicious whom he killed.

He is very efficient in martial arts. he specializes in Jeet Kune Do, that of the famous twenty first century martial artist Bruce Lee. Spike is also proficient in all long rang weaponry. He has a ship named Swordfish and a gun called Jericho 941.
