What is that brain of his doing.
Spider-Man
Character » Spider-Man appears in 17246 issues.
Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider as a teenager, granting him spider-like powers. After the death of his Uncle Ben, Peter learned that "with great power, comes great responsibility." Swearing to always protect the innocent from harm, Peter Parker became Spider-Man.
Why doesn't he get rich?
Isn't he already?
I remember that Horizon was giving him a lot of money, and I'm sure Parker Industries should be giving him even more.
Because he's got the worst luck ever. If he won the lottery he'd immediately loose the ticket when on the way to cash it in Green Goblin shows up to f**k with him.
He's a world renowned scientist and CEO of a large corporation and his aunt cruises around in a private jet so... I'm pretty sure he is.
He may not be "Rich" but he is CEO of Parker Industries now, so he must get a lot of money from that.
Because a character with enough intelligence and money does not need powers to be at Spiderman level.
It would also make it harder for him to relate to normal people, damaging his ability to be the hero of the people.
None of the billionaire heroes have been able to build empathy because they have few 'normal' people to interact with and inspire.
Without Booster Gold, Blue Beetle would come across as a smart guy playing hero with superhumans that completely outclass anything he can come up with.
I could also point out that GA and Ted Kord both used most of their company's assets to further their cause as superheroes. The result was they eventually went broke trying to keep pace with powerhouses.
Spiderman with a lot of money would spend all of it on tech to better fight crime and higher level supervillains. The result should follow.
PS. It is odd that people say that Batman is a joke because his gear is so close to street level, then say he should be broke because he must spend billions. If he is using his fists to beat up groups of criminals, he is not wasting money. If he has a suit that can take a rocket point blank, he is not trashing the suit every arc against normal street crime. What would break his bank is something like Batman Inc. Except he is fighting a trillion dollar empire, and discovering a new energy source.
@currentthor2015: I see your new around here, welcome to the site :)
Already read your profile, let me know if you'd like some suggested reading for DC books that are good and easy to jump on, or just any help with anything at all on this site.
Because Marvel is retarded. He's no relateable than Dick Greyson or Barry Allen and they make shit tons of cash doing what they do(at least in Dick case he's got a family fortune). Spiderman being rich is actually a creative idea I like to see explored, he'd unlike most millionares would not be tempted by the high life and philanthropy Bruce and Tony are known for, and Id like to see him fun stories created on how he explores wealth responsibly.
