    Otto is more intelligent than Parker, as many of you have said but Peter has more of an open mind, which gives him an overall advantage.

    Spider-Man is certainly smarter. On the other hand, Doctor Octopus is a lot more proactive and dedicated.

    I think Spider-Man is the smarter one, mainly because of his quick-wittedness and his ability to adapt in a short time span. Spidey also has the greater intellectual potential, though an honorable mention has to be given to Doc Ock as Ock is still very intelligent and utilizes his brilliance to its fullest potential/exploits his abilities more so than Spidey.

    @jimishim12: It is miracle on what you could do with few million dolars LOL. Nah I'm just kidding,he was very very smart before,he just didn't had any way to show his full potential. Still I wouldn't put him on the level of top minds yet.

    Haha, is this even a real question? Spidey is so much smarter it's not even funny.

    I wouldn't say that. Spider-Man is certainly more intelligent than Doc Ock, but it's a bit of an exaggeration to say that he's "much smarter".

    @blackspidey2099: let's not overexaggerate Spidey's intellect/underrate Octavius.

    @riscrit: Well, tech wise, Doc Ock's tech is a lot less advanced than the things Peter has built. Besides, Peter completely wrecked Doc Ock in that "battle of the minds" thing they had going on there in ASM #600. Also, there's the fact that Doc Ock's best plan to defeat Spidey was completely reliant on the coincidence that Spider-Man was forced to disregard his spider sense at the same time that Ock deployed his gold Octobot, while Spidey usually beats Ock with ease. Even Ock's greatest success in Ends of the Earth only came about due to him stealing Peter's far superior tech. I think the comics have shown he is certainly far smarter than Ock - it's the difference between one of the top 5/10 smartest minds on earth vs one maybe in the top 20/30.

    @SpideyJJ see above.

    I think Peter is smarter than Doc but in superior Spider-Man. Doc showed us that he were maybe less intelligent but much more active. It triggers something in peter. He had never use his tech (Parker industries tech) like now. It's the thing in superior Spider-Man technogically speaking he is way better but morally speaking he is not And that's why ock had to let Parker take control. Peter is smarter than Doc but did not use his intelligent before the mind swapping with Doc !
