During "The Other" Spidey developed a number of enhancements from organic web shooters to enhanced strength/senses/speed to the ability to speak to insects... however, it seems most of these have fallen by the wayside. Certainly during Civil War much was made of how the Iron Spider suit enhanced many of the same things which "The Other" storyline had, supposedly, already enhanced. Currently, it seems we're back to plain old vanilla Spidey without any known improvements. So was there a clear point at which they were undone?
On the topic of upgrades, a lot to do was made about the advantages the Iron Spider presented Peter. Optical camo, enhanced strength/durability/senses/multitasking/etc., additional offensive limbs and so on. While it makes sense for Spidey to give up the suit during his flip flopping in Civil War, now that he's on good terms with Stark again, what's preventing his adoption of the technology once again? If I recall, it even had an image projector allowing it to look like any costume so if it's an issue of appearance he could make it look like his traditional suit whilst keeping all the advantages. It can't be an issue of cost or availability as there are other Iron Spider suits out there as shown by the Initiative. Finally, even if it's not his favorite suit, what would it hurt to keep one in his closet the way he keeps the Black suit of unstable molecules provided by Mr. Fantastic (showing further that Pete isn't above accepting high technology as a gift from others). Has there been an in story rationale given?
