What does Spider-Man have that make him so appealing to you?

I love Spider-Man, don't read his comics anymore( FU Quesada and money), but he will always will have a special place in my Superman heart. He has always taught me about...well responsibility...Yes it sounds cheesy, but whatever :D I probably give a more detailed explanation later.

    What about you?

The fact I can relate to him, his humour and his truly heroic personality are the things that make him appeal to me.

He was originally special for his humanity and responsibility.

Nowadays, they just focus on the fact the he's loser with no money or girlfriend. Apparently, he expects normal people to be like that and not happy in any way shape or form.

He pioneered the whole 'teenage hero with teenage problems' archetype. Much like how Batman is the blueprint for all no-powers grim vigilantes, Spider-Man is the original teenage superhero who isn't a sidekick.

I found him relatable in high school, but I don't know, I guess I've kind of outgrown that. For some reason, I find heroes like Captain America or Superman to be more relatable now. But I can definitely see the appeal.

I feel the same way, it makes me sad to think about it now how much I liked Spider-man, I have posters and action figures still, but now whenever I see anything with him anymore I just groan and do something else. I guess I just outgrew him.

I still think the idea behind him is still great. The responsibility angle all of it is really good.

Present Peter in the comics left high school a long time ago - but the whole high-school hero is still a big part of the character, I feel. And it's also arguably the most compelling and innovative phase of the character, being continuously revisited in other media like the TV shows or movies. I can still enjoy the character, but on a personal level, I don't know - I just don't have that connection anymore.

He's one of the very few heroes I actually relate to. I've said it once and I'll say it again: relatability is overrated. However, when you relate to a character you relate to them. Plus he has a cool personality and costume, a great supporting cast and rogues gallery, and a lot of fantastic stories.

    Originality:

-He was the first major superhero to be a teenager, that's right, not a sidekick, a full blown hero, with his own title.

    -His costume was outstanding

-His powers are still the most unique powers in comics

-His fighting style is beautiful to watch

-His villains are the third greatest in comics (Besides Batman and Flash)

    -He's hilarious

    -He's likable

-He's an underdog, thus, must can see themselves in him

-Unlike a majority of Marvel characters, he actually has a well defined moral compass

-He is a good guy, making him extremely enjoying to read

    -His inner monologues are gold

Spider-Man is without a doubt, one of the greatest heroes to ever be created.

Because he is the quote "everyman" he has real world problems just like normal people do school, money issues, and dealing with his love life. Also its his attitude no matter how much life beats Peter down he still stands up for whats right and what he believes in that's why I find Spiderman the most relateable and one of the best heroes created.

He's young, he's funny, he looks cool, his powers are actually unique, and there is a great mix of seriousness tragedy and comedy in his life, he gets all the hottest girls, and he started out as a nerd getting picked on. Spider-Man is the sum of what everyone wants to be.

I think you hit the nail on the head. He is what I believe human are: Flawed individuals trying their best to be their best. We may not always succeed, but we damn well try. But I think this explains what Spider-Man means a lot better.

    What makes Spiderman so special?

Nothing, which is the greatest thing about him. He is the most relatable, down to earth character i have read. Apart from spiderman powers and intellgence, he faces all the problems a normal man faces. Hard to find a job, boss treats you like crap, not enough money to support your family, world being very unappreciative of you and well "Parker Luck".

Spider Man is special because he ALWAYS finds a way to solve his problem's even if by lucky, he can do things even the most amazing avenger can't just by struggling. Also I like to think that every average skinny boy like me as a child can relate to him.
