We have how many heroes and villains in New York? 100? 200? 1000? Spider-Man has to be the heart of New York, no doubt. But what if in an alternate universe Peter Parker was a Londoner and not Yorker? Would things turn out differently? Would there be minor changes to the mythos or would we have a very different Spider-Man in our hands?

I was a big fan of Marvel UK and I would like to see it expanded upon but alas, it will never happen. Thus I came up with this scenario. Anyway, tell me what you think.

He'd use sewers instead of swinging because of the lack of tall buildings.

His suit would have a monocle and he'd drink pints and watch soccer but call it football. Also he'd eat crappy hot dogs.

Hot Dogs aren't popular here.

Fish and chips, burger or saveloy or kebab, or Cornish pasty, or steak and kidney pie or something.

His teeth would be yellower, he would start using more irony, hang around pubs all the time.

Probably develop a binge drinking problem.

Why not bring him or one of his clones to Texas? Kaine would be ideal for this. Maybe somewhere in the Houston Austin area.

He would be played by...Alex Pettyfyr. *shivers*

He would be like Ron Weasley and get homemade sweaters made by Aunt May.

I don't see how things would be much different. Most Western cultures (Europe and America) are very similar, especially the US and the UK. Besides some colloquial terms and phrases changing in Parker's speech I doubt that fans would notice a significant difference.

The reason I asked was because if Spider-Man was set in Britain he wouldn't team up with heroes across the pond that often. For example, he wouldn't have a big role in Civil War, thus One More Day would never happen. That's what I was asking.

Who wants shxtty weather in every comic? Also no one would read it,every other panel would have blaad,waste,fam or other terrible UK slang. Geez the UK sucks...

If Spider-Man was set in London, it would be because he was invited by Brian Braddock as a guest at his family estate. There Peter would have met Brian's twin sister, Betsy(before she became Psylocke). It wouldn't be out of the question to see a Spider-Man x Captain Britain team-up series that takes place in London, followed by a guest appearance of the Black Widow. I would suspect that in this setting Peter and Betsy would be spending some quality time together getting to know one another in the process of his time in the UK.

Anyway we already have our own webspinning Spider Man

Albeit he was creepy, a little bit evil, and kind of looked like Spock, or Namor.

I don't see Spiderman being any different in Britain than the United States.... I mean how are the people too much different there? same with the country.

Norman osborn would be a "little person" irish and his alter ego would be the green leprechaun
