Peter's death was a good closure for him and I'm really enjoying the new series with Miles. I'm hoping Peter stays dead but the other characters like Gwen, MJ, and Aunt May stick around.

I want Peter Back! The Killed him in 616 as well!!. And the way he Ultimate Peter died was just sad....

Maybe because people think hes going to stay dead, marvel will surprise us and bring him back.

Indeed, dead is dead. If Marvel was going to bring him back they shouldn't have killed him.

And how people say that it is racist to not like a black Spider-Man. No it's not the problem is when I was a kid if you asked me who Superman is I could say (and still can say) "Clark Kent."

Now I can't say "Peter Parker is Spider-Man". Not from reading the Amazing or Ultimate, Marvel screwed up by killing my Forever adolescent hero who had a name that was easy to pronounce and a background that was easy enough to follow (Black Hispanic, what do you call that other than mixed)

So no I don't think I'll ever like Miles unless he like gets mutated into an adult (or is replaced by an adult version of himself) which is completely different from the 13 year old Start over of Peter Parker except now you get to read how Peter Parker died.

And for goodness sake stop resurrecting people Marvel! This isn't Dragon Ball Z where death just means going to live in another place for a few years. (At least in Naruto a person had to die in order to resurrect someone else). They should've just let Spidey die and that be it at least his memory would be something I could share with my grandchildren with pride (Okay dramatic ending completed).

I like Miles, he different to Peter in some ways, but he's similar in an aspect too. Though hopefully when he grows up and develops he'll be different, seeing as people want brand new and fresh material these days.

They better! I mean they brought Norman back to life for crying out loud! The dude tackled captain America instead of maybe webbing him out of the way, webbing punisher out of the way, tackling punisher! There were so many options other than that! They have to bring him back!

I'm still unclear on how he died. I understand he sustained severe physical trauma on top of an untreated non-lethal gun shot wound and bled out. How does that lead to death for someone who's skin scrapings makes instant clones made easy? The way it was explained to us, decapitation and incineration would be the only way to really kill him. His death is probably the most questionable I've ever seen in the Ultimate universe. Seriously, they stuck Norman Osborne in a nutrient bubble bath and that cured having his brains blown out all over the main deck of the helicarrier.

Why? cause anyone can say that miles is an exact copy of peter to the point that he got his powers exactly like peter and learns life nearly like peter. Difference is that he is coloured. As for people saying that the is a need for more coloured superhero's I can say that they could've just made one that would be a side kick sooner or later be the next spiderman not the only one.

I still don't believe that's the real Peter, there's no way. He comes off as a jackass, plus they have those chameleon spider-men earlier in the issue.

..good start to the new series though, I read through Issue 1 last night and enjoyed it. I like the Miles Morales Spiderman, not more than Peter Parker, but it figures that the Ultimate universe should have a different guy as Spiderman.

Despite the fact that "dead is dead" in the Ultimate Universe, they left too many doors open for his return. Staying dead would have made even less sense in the story, unless I missed an issue/scan when he requested not to be resuscitated. I hope it's really him, but I don't think he should come back as Spider-Man though (or a villain for that matter).

old post but I feel that I need to address at least a few of these

1. he was bitten by a spider that was produced by Osborn trying to copy the spider that gave Peter his powers

2. it wasn't a coincidence that he showed up at Peter's funeral...he went there with a purpose

3. it's really not a coincidence that the spider was from Osborn's lab...where else would it have came from?

I like Miles...I think his stories have been just as good as Peter's....I love that his "great power/responsibility" lesson was that he could have prevented Peter's death...so now he's trying to live up to Peter's example...love it

..no reason why both Spidermen can't exist in the Ultimate Universe. We have 4 earth Green Lanterns in many of the Green Lantern books...I'd rather they didn't drop Miles. I like his stories and the additional powers he gained, such as invisibility and his sting..

They should make Peter/Clone Peter the Scarlett Spider and have him in Future Foundation.

@bezza: I dont recall Scarlett Spider having the "all the power, none of the responsibility" mantra when it was Ben Reilly. I believe it was only with Kane. But the UU needs a Scarlett Spider, even though Spider-Woman/Black Widow is a clone too. Perhaps he could be Iron Spider instead? That could fit better with the current Galactus theme the FF is taking.

what doors did they leave open? i mean sure he could come back, but in the 616 universe where he unmasked himself his life was basically effed, they wrote themselves into a corner and the only way to fix it is a deal with the devil had to be made lol, so much hate and controversy was received by that. If an adult peter couldnt handle the unmasking, how is a teenage one going to do better? as soon as he shows his face his loved ones friends and old school will all be taken out like the kingpin threatened to do, im actually surprised when miles showed up no one mistook him for peter and went on a killing spree

This thread should be entitled "should ultimate peter Parker come back". Morales is the ultimate universe Spidey now . People need to deal with it. Especially now that we have Peter back.
