That's what happens when the show is AIMED at a young kids audience. This show is not going to anywhere near its comic book counterpart. Give a Japanese company like TMS or Sunrise the opportunity to create original episodes (like The Boinic Six, Cowboy Bebop, or Code Geass) for Ultimate Spider-Man, the show would appeal to both kids and Adults on a grand scale.
