Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider as a teenager, granting him spider-like powers. After the death of his Uncle Ben, Peter learned that "with great power, comes great responsibility." Swearing to always protect the innocent from harm, Peter Parker became Spider-Man.
Gotta say i'm disappointed with the choice of villain considering how many more logical choices there are but Webb did such a good job on the first movie i'm going to go on faith that he won't disappoint.

I'm actually very excited by this! They can link it to finding a cleaner energy source, have Max Dillion be a technican working on the project and then an accident can occur leading to Max's transformation into Electro and play out a misguided role. This is great news for me as I wanted Electro in the sequel! Is there a better choice for a villain?
@Lvenger: Morbius, Dr Ock, Jackal or Venom would have been much more in keeping with the new franchise in my opinion. Suddenly having someone who can manipulate electricity seems pretty random considering the emphasis they've put on the biological side of this Spider-man universe.
@Strider92: Morbius would be pandering to the vampire craze which is not something I want to see. Doc Ock's been done before and we don't need to see him again in this trilogy IMO. If Venom was like he is in the Ultimate Universe then that could be interesting but after his performence in Spider-Man 3, I'm not too keen on Venom. Jackal could be good too going down the clone route. But Electro's still not too bad, not if they keep it in tone with the scientific side of these Spider-Man films. And if he looks anything like this:
(couldn't find the blue energy version of this costume)
@Lvenger: Yeah but I wouldn't have gone the Vampire route with Morbius either. Just have him as a bat/human cross-species. Keep the blood drinking completely out of it. Have him be cannibalistic instead.
problem with spiderman villains is the fact that the xmen, spiderman, FF, avengers, ghost rider all exist in seperate movie universes. so if you pick a villain big enough he could also be a baddie for one of the other hero franchises. like Rhino could be a Black Panther bad guy which gives you problems with the avengers and the FF. you also don't want to use doc ock, venom, goblin, hobgoblin, sandman, because they are from that other spiderman movie franchise.
so i think they should use Mysterio as the villain for amazing spiderman 2. you can have him played by brent spinner.
