Where should I start reading Amazing Spider-man I tried starting at issue 1 and I've made it to issue 28 so far but so far they have not been very enjoyable and it's a chore just to get through the issues, where would you recommend I start, when does it get better. Thanks for your help.

If you're looking for old stuff, try Roger Stern.

If you're looking for general enjoyment try the most recent(2000) JMS's run-it's modern dialog, great humour- or Dave Michelinie's 1989 run -MacFarlane's art is the most revolutionary art in ages, for Spider-Man-

Or,if you want to know the character, and having fun with it, just read Bendis's Ultimate Spider-Man.
