    Could Spidey do better than Batman in keeping GC safe? Would Gordon help him? Could Spidey deal with the more mental attacks from the likes of The Riddler, The Joker. Could he have dealt with the chaotic catastrophes like Cataclism, KnightFall and others? Would a team like the Outsiders follow SpiderMan?

    @blackdog2009: Actually I find Spider-man more similar to Flash and Central City. All an excuse to see his interactions with The Rogues. Given how Spider-Man's villains seem more similar to Flash's. Batman's are just to overly psychotic or trying to copy off Slasher movie villains.

    @punyparker: why not?

    Because Batman has a personal connection to the city.....a certain chemistry that noone else has.Even the other heroes who are living in it.

    I guess, he would do a decent job, Peter is way stronger and way faster than batman, he might not be the “world best detective” but he is a good one in his own right, Peter is also pretty smart guy (he is a genius) maybe not way smarter than batman but yes as smart as him (maybe little smarter than batman, thats my opinion).

    Batman strongest's foes are Killer Croc and Bane and Peter is stronger than them, they wouldn’t prove a much of a challenge for him,after all spiderman's web have restrained Rhino and even the Thing, him only for a few moments but restrained him none the less, and Mr. Grimm is way stronger than Croc and Bane combine.

    The Joker is a different story, I don’t know how it would turn up after all, the Joker is crazier than Norman and Peter has have problems with Norman's mind.

    @kingofbill:

    According to Bane’s official wiki, under "venom", Bane can lift 3 tons while Peter can lift 10 tons under normal condition and push it to 15 or even 20 under stress, a punch from Bane without "venom" will only tickle Pete and with "venom" he will feel it but it won’t do too much damage (if anything at all).

    Punisher is pretty strong (close to top human condition) and maybe pretty close to Bane’s regular strength and he can't do a thing to Pete.

    You need to define the phrase better job. If you're asking if he'd be a more effective crime fighter then yes due to his super-human stamina he'll be able to be out a whole lot more than Bruce both at night and day. He also has the stats to make most of Batman's enemies pretty much non-factors. However although Spider-man does deal with psychopaths on a daily basis the ones Batman deals with are more in number and seem more unpredictable with Massacre being the closest to Batman's villains in terms of personality. So to put it in perspective Parker would most likely tear through Gotham's crime like a knife through butter as not many Batman villains can hurt him let alone match him. However this will be at the cost of innocent lives on quite a few occasions as Peter doesn't have the necessary experience with said villains to predict the best course of action to take against them. So initially he'd be less effective then Bruce but eventually after a few years he would be just as effective and probably superior due to his stat levels.

    I could imagine The Joker would find with Spiderman but he probably couldn't take his unpredictable nature.

    Gotham was designed to be unclean-able so no Pete couldn't do it, but maybe pete wouldn't have the same territorial issues and ask for help when it's due?

    I gotta agree with those that said Batman's brawn-based foes wouldn't stand a chance against Peter. The intelligent ones like Bane and Riddler would give him some fun times for sure, but the truly insane ones like Joker or Zsasz would confound him I think because Pete doesnt usually deal with that level of crazy. Not even from Osbourn or Carnage.
