How strong is spider-man with the venom symbiote? Who else in Marvel/DC is on the similar level of power?

@kurthoff90: as powerful as spidey without the suit. All it gives him is organic webbing and filters put positions and toxins in the air. The suit doesn't amp him at all

Then what made the fans think the symbiote makes him stronger or even more aggressive ?

@skyleat: I believe that was a misconception that originated from the animated series, where the symbiote did enhance his strength.

The venom symbiote didn't make him any stronger in the comics. It gave him unlimited organic webbing, more durability and a few other little perks. The symbiote based it's stat increases on spider-man. However, if it were to bond to him now, it would probably make him stronger.

@theghostassassin: Dan slott has no ground to stand on with the amount he's butchered Spider-Man tbh

It does enhance his strength! Confirmation from Dan Slott.

Okay but this was never shown to be the case in the comics. Dan Slott is new to Spider-Man (relatively speaking) and is probably just speaking from the current understanding of the symbiote, which is fine, but an increase in strength would have been noted if this was originally the case.

it has never been confirmed that Spider-man wasn't enhanced by the symbiote,it amped Gargan that had already super-strength
so a symbiote would give him
    Enhanced Strength
    Enhanced Spider-sense
    Enhanced Agility and Speed
    Organic Webbing
    Tendril generation

Why wouldn't the symbiote enhance Spider-man? It would have made him stronger and more likely to survive,as it's the Symbiote's interest that its host survives.

why do people keep saying the symbiote didn't enhance spiderman. to me it obviously enhanced him. it enhanced everyone else. why wouldn't it enhance spidey. just the fact that it gave him unlimited webbing showed that it boosted perter's other stats.

I always disliked this explanation because it was unnecessary (at least at the time). Spider-Man never bonded with the Alien Symbiote, he just wore it as a costume, it unsuccessfully tried to bond with him when Reed Richards shot it with the Sonic Cannon.

This is what happened when Brock was shot with the cannon

TBH Most aspects of the Symbiote ended up getting forgotten, revised and watered down over time anyway though.

well didnt Slott announced that it actually has an impact on his strength, and if im not mistaken it is a 2.3x (even though it'd be more preferable not to have an impact on Pete's strength).

When Peter had the symbiote, it never increased his stats, but the Symbiote did copy his powers. When it left Peter, it Bonded with Peak Human Eddie Brock making them stronger than Peter.

When it left Brock, It bonded with Mac stacking Venom powers with Scorpion's Makin him stronger. Then later on Bonded with Flash.

So it's quit possible if the symbiote would bonded with Peter now, it would make him stronger like it did with Otto. But initially when Peter 1st aquired the symbiote, it didn't enhance him anyway

i think that the symbiote made peter slightly stronger. and it increased the effectiveness of his spider-powers.

I always thought that the suit basically got stronger after every host. Spider-man initially with the symbiote seemed like his strength levels were the same. But after going through brock, gargan, and flash, superior venom seemed to be much stronger than his base.
