The upcoming movie will be shot in 3-D
Sony Pictures Worldwide Marketing & Distribution Chairman Jeff Blake announced today that the upcoming Spider-Man re-boot movie will be shot in 3-D. That's right, Spidey will be webslinging not just across your screen on July 3, 2012, but out of it and into your face! Yeah, I know you're excited.
Now, we talked about the re-boot and I know a lot of you had some mixed feelings about bringing Spidey back to High School by 500 Days of Summer director Marc Webb, but we also mentioned that the rumored budget for the film is going to be about a third of what it cost to make the last one. So my question is, will the rumored $80 million budget be enough to shoot the film in 3-D? Oh, and before 500 Days of Summer, Marc Webb was directing music videos you watched on MTV. Good luck with the 3-D, dude.
Is it me, or does it feel like practically every Super-hero movie we hear about going into production begs the question of whether or not it will be shot in 3-D? I feel like we have James Cameron to thank for setting the industry standard for our future movie experiences. Call me crazy, but I am still a little bit sceptical over whether or not shooting Spider-Man in 3-D is a good idea, what do you guys think?
