Yes he did. And that was great, the character had already served its purpose, so eliminating the threat was only fitting.

If it was Peter that got and power upgrade from the particles, then I would have liked to see it run its course. But that was never the intention. They just wanted to show that a normal boy that was in someways like Peter at his age, and someday found himself with great powers wouldn't necessarily make the same choices/sacrifices that Peter made. And it served also has a lesson for Peter, because he got to see how easily his own spider powers could have fallen in the wrong hands.

Spider-Mans great prep feats are preparing his @nus for; Second Clone Saga, OMD, BND, OMIT, Spider-Man 3 (movie and game), Alpha, Superior Spider-Man, Amazing Spider-Man 2 (movie and game) and Ultimate Spider-Man (tv series). All of those sh!tty things could have easily destroyed Spider-Man but he somehow survived them lol.
