As much as I love Spidey, I can't stand Dan Slott so I've just been looking to read some other Spider-Man stories for a while considering there are so many to read.

Would any of you recommend reading Spider-Man: Family Business?

I'd appreciate it if you could give me a spoiler-free run down of the book too,

    Thanks!

I would most definitely recommend picking up a copy of "Family Business". One of the best Spider-Man stories in recent years. True to Spidey's character and voice.

In terms of the basic premise, Peter gets kidnapped in the middle of the night and is rescued by a mysterious secret agent who claims to be his long-lost sister named Teresa. They then look into their parent's CIA past to discover the explanation for Peter’s mysterious abduction and the reasons for his sister’s sudden appearance.

This is a global Spider-Man in a well written tale of international espionage, intrigue and action.

It's an original graphic novel written by Mark Waid & James Robinson. Pencils are by Werther Dell'Edera and the painted artwork by Gabriel Dell'Otto. Published in April 2014. :-)

Its solid, the artwork's pretty nice, the plot is predictable but it hits the right notes
