Two weeks ago Entertainment Weekly gave us our first glimpse at Sony Pictures' next superhero movie (and one I know a lot of fans absolutely can't wait to see) The Amazing Spider-Man. Now, Sony has officially revealed the high resolution pictures straight from the movie set. If you didn't realize they were this pretty before, then you might just be convinced based on this new batch.

Not only does Sony give us another high res peek at actor Andrew Garfield's Spidey suit he'll be wearing in the film, but we also get a glimpse at actress Emma Stone (who plays Gwen Stacy) offering Peter Parker a helping hand. There are plenty more high resolution photos below, so be sure to check them out and let us know which is your favorite. The Amazing Spider-Man will be hitting theaters on July 3rd, 2012.

Emma (cant think of her last name) does'nt really do anything for me.  Honestly.

Interesting how the news about the actor playing The Lizard's intoxicated antics and arrest at SDCC and hateful comments about the USA were not covered. It might be a stupid thing to cover I guess but that really annoys the crap out of me.

I am on the fence about this; I am interested in it but after seeing bits of the trailer I don't know. I did notice, though, he's using web shooters! The actor needs a hair cut. Ha!

I love Emma Stone, but I despise Gwen Stacey lol

Weren't these released before? Why is this news?

#12 Posted by Burnstar1230 (207 posts) - - Show Bio

So is the villain confirmed to be The Lizard or is it Proto Goblin OR both? Just from past experience, having more than one villain in a movie has not helped the spider-man franchise.

These are high resolution images. The other images we saw were pretty awful in comparison. Also, this was explained in the first few sentences.

Spider-Man isn't a dark and brooding guy :/ I have Batman movies for my Batman.

#15 Posted by 00MirageKnight00 (41 posts) - - Show Bio

I'd like to see some more enemies besides goblins.................

#16 Posted by Morgaine_Levesque (2095 posts) - - Show Bio

The more I see of this the more I like. He really pulls of the tall, gangly, awkward nerd look (yet definitely has some muscle on him) and that costume looks pretty freaking awesome.

Excellent quality pictures. July 3, 2012 seems so far away. I keep getting more and more excited each time I see something about this movie.

I want to skip this because I think Tobey McGuire (I may have misspelled that) is Peter Parker and thats what was really cool about the first two movies. I am not liking the fact that spiderman seems to have gone the dark route in this movie. Spidey is best when he is funny, ironic, nerdy but a hero none the less.

@Daveyo520
: touched on this but I would really hate it they used the whole "my parents died I will be a hero for them" angle because that first diminishes Uncle Ben and two makes this a story about vengeance rather than responsibility.

Will still probably watch because well its spidey, he is my fav and June 30th is my bday and movie are a tradition.

I agree with Tom Pinchuk that this movie's gonna be awesome. This is one midnight showing I won't miss!

I just hope this movie doesn't take up too much time focusing on the origin part of the story, again. I know they have to do something since they are taking a drastic change in the story.  It's just going to be awkward if they spend half the movie of without seeing the Spider-man suit and some action.
They are kind of walking on some treacherous ground by titling this "Amazing Spider-man". I get the meaning, but to anyone who isn't familiar with all the comic titles. It would seem weird to have a movie telling you how good it's suppose to be.

@cdeoleo
I'm pretty vocal about my opposition to the Spider-man comics, but I'm willing to give this movie a shot. Quesada didn't write it, right? The only thing I don't like about this new kid is that poofy hair. He just seems a bit too 'male model' to play the role of a geek turned hero.

For whatever reason, comic publishers and writers are once again going back to the brooding hero cliche. They are doing the same thing to Superman for the comics. Publishers pulled that over-saturation of brooding, emo heroes back in the 90s. Who knows why they are trying that again? Why can't any of these people ever seem to be happy?

I can't stand lovey dovey movies, but 500 Days of Summer was a really damn good movie.  It had a shitty ending.  I don't mean shitty as in BAD, I mean shitty as in it was sad.  I have a feeling that Amazing Spider-man is going a whole hell of a lot darker then anyone thinks it's going to be.  I hate the suit, but I have hopes for the movie.

This whole movie is looking worse and worse with every promo image and video that is released. it looks like a high schooler who reads Spider-Man and Twilight, got stoned and decided to make a made for tv movie.

#24 Posted by Avenging-X-Bolt (12512 posts) - - Show Bio

looking better than the original trilogy even more and more apearence wise any way. but have to wait till the movie come out to see the actual acting . i seriously hope we get some parker funnies,  we got absolutely zero laughs from the old ones

Not a big fan of the costume. It's like a speedo suit, but this movie has real potential. The Lizard stories were always great in Amazing Spider-Man b/c Spidey has to pull his punches b/c Dr. Connors is his friend. Also, Emma Stone's gonna be brilliant as Gwen Stacy if the character's like the Ultimate version
#26 Posted by RedK (2521 posts) - - Show Bio

personally i think it looks awesome and after what Garfield did at Comic-Con i got some serious respect for the guy and really hope the film does well

That shot with Gwen and Peter both looking into the camera is just too cute for words I say...well, Im looking more at Gwen anyway in that, but regardless, cute!

@cdeoleo: I agree with you I want a sarcastic guy who has really bad one liners, but I don't think this movie will have that.

@FoxxFireArt: I am pretty sure they are just using Gwen Stacy in this movie to kill her off at the end. That is really the only reason I see them using her really, just to make it darker.

@GiantsizeManThing: The actor who portrayed The Lizard in this Spider-Man movie apparently was somewhat intoxicated at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con as he arrived for his panel appearance. He was being rude to a security guard when asked who he was apparently, got offended, pushed the security guard and said some choice words, such as how much he hated the USA.

If you Google "Spider Man villain arrested at SDCC" you will find better info than what I am providing. I am surprised Comic Vine didn't cover the incident.

By high resolution you mean 600*800?

The photos look promising, I'm not ready to dismiss the film but I'm still skeptical.

#40 Posted by Gambit1024 (9890 posts) - - Show Bio

Am I the only one who really likes that spider logo on his chest?

@Decept-O:
wow, thanks for the info man.
#42 Posted by Decept-O (7274 posts) - - Show Bio

@GiantsizeManThing: No problemo says Decept-O. Kind of sad, actually. Still trying to be positive about this film but I don't know, getting a different vibe regarding how this will turn out. :(

#43 Posted by UnosInfinitos (148 posts) - - Show Bio

Even though I literally went through puberty with Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy I'm completely okay with this reboot. Don't get me wrong Tobey  MaGuire was an excellent Peter Parker and the first two movies were great he just wasn't the smart-mouth web he was in the comics.
And this film is seriously giving off a Ultimate Spidey meets The Fly vibe and to be real honest I'm more curious about the costume and how he got it.

#44 Posted by Maki_P (275 posts) - - Show Bio

Not bad, and I found interesting that Gwen in the main love interest now, most version only have MJ

#45 Posted by The Stegman (23033 posts) - - Show Bio

man Garfield got BUFF

and about the suit, i like it, but i find it REALLY REALLY hard to believe a high school kid made such an intricate suit

#46 Posted by sesquipedalophobe (4691 posts) - - Show Bio

@The Stegman: I had a similar design for a suit when I thought spoiled Honey Baked Hams meat gave me powers.

Apparently she's a natural blonde.  She changed her hair for Superbad and decided to keep it.
