Spider-Man

Character » Spider-Man appears in 9580 issues.

Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider as a teenager, granting him spider-like powers. After the death of his Uncle Ben, which he could have prevented, Peter learned that "with great power, comes great responsibility." Swearing to always protect the innocent from harm, Peter Parker became the Amazing Spider-Man!

So what should the sequel to amazing Spider-man be called?

If you ask me calling the sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is just lame. So what do you guy's think the sequel should be called? I think it should be called Ultimate Spider-man. LOL

It should be called a reboot.

I think it should be called Spectacular Spider-man, however, they may choose to take advantage of the Spidey reboot and call it Superior Spider-man

Dude, they're not going to reboot a movie after already rebooting it once...

Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is too long so I second Spectacular Spider-Man.

Ultimate Spider-Man could be a cool title but I'd see it working more for the third or fourth film than the second.......particularly if that film delved into a clone, by which I don't mean touching on the Clone Saga story but the original concept back in Amazing Spider-Man 149 (from 1975) with only a single clone (though I guess Superior Spider-Man could also work in that regard). Or the film could adapt the Kraven's Last Hunt storyline which would also fit the title quite well as Kraven dressed as Spider-Man for a bit after burying him alive (though the story would most likely need to be modified that Kraven is defeated by Peter rather than commiting suicide given the general audience it would need to appeal to......which I'm okay with so long as Kraven fighting Vermin is still in the film).

Really do hope they keep the title of the movies with the title of Spidey's various series. Its a great way to avoid the standard numbering title and having to put a hint of the film into the title (like Thor: The Dark World or Captain America: Winter Soldier) since trailers today contain enough spoilers without putting it right in the title.

Yes, but there are people who actually liked the movie. Me included.

Plus honestly, looking at it from a general non-comic book reader's point-of-view, another reboot so soon would only hurt Spidey's chances on the big screen as people would not want to sit through another origins story; you can only watch a boy get bit by a spider so many times before it gets old.

They don't need to tell the origin story again. Look at how good the Incredible Hulk was. They barely covered the origin, just showing clips with no dialogue during the opening credits and establishing everything as we went along.

True, and I honestly feel they should do that with most superhero movies now, especially Batman for example. Instead of rebooting a character's movie series, just give us a quick recap of their origin in the opening credits or right at the beginning of a movie, so instead of rebooting they're just continuing from where the last movies left off, kind of like James Bond style.

But even if you do that with the origin, that still doesn't stop people from getting confused if the character is completely different. They've just been introduced to a new Peter Parker/Spider-Man, introducing them to a new new one would only make them more confused and thus would cause people to get less excited about the movie. Not to mention if the love interest were suddenly different and what not. But at this point it's simply too soon to reboot this series again.

True. It is too soon to reboot it. So they should just buy the rights to Daredevil and focus on him for the next several years, realizing the Amazing Spider-man happened, though just use that as an example of why reboots can't be rushed.

Woundn't it make the whole story kind of piontless? The whole point in Kraven commint suicide was that he had won, he didn't need to do anything anymore. Kraven won, spidey lost.

Daredevil is back at Marvel studios. However Elektra is still at Fox for a couple of more years since the movie was made a couple of years after Daredevil. This probably means that we won't see a Daredevil movie before Elektra is back with Marvel again. http://www.themarysue.com/marvel-studios-gets-daredevil-back/
