Writer Dan Slott teased a few more Superior Spider-Man details during a retailer breakfast held at the start of New York Comic Con. Marvel Comics has confirmed that Slott told retailers in attendance that the Spider-Man starring in the January-debuting series is indeed a character other than Peter Parker, and that Spider-Man and Mary Jane would be getting back together — which would mean that Peter and MJ will not be.

@evilvegeta74: I don't think that it will be Miles....although Peter's reaction at the end of Spider-men does confirm that Miles does exist in some manor in the 616...I just don't see how Miles could become Spider-man in the 616 without some sort of introduction prior to issue 700

I'm already dropping Wolverine next year, and now it looks like I won't be buying Spider-Man. If this is done because "all of the Peter Parker stories have been told", then get a new writer.

I can't lose Peter in 616 and Ultimate. I hope that Dan means that Spider-man won't be acting like Peter. The only way I will be on board with this is if Peter gets injured, and out of the blue comes Ben Reilly to take over the Spidey job. Peter could then stay as a supplement character who makes Ben's tech while he recovers from his injuries. Even then I would have some serious problems with MJ dating Ben after she and Peter broke up.

Hopefully it wont be Miles, that is way too predictable. It could be a brand-new character or one of Peter's old supporting cast that we haven't seen in years. Now I'm not so excited for the book. Marvel really wants to keep Peter and MJ from getting back together. So now she's with some new Spiderman? Thanks Marvel. Slott is by no means a bad writer but hasn't this been done before??

True but furys son is black and looks like a buffer version of the ultimate one. Also they added agent Coulsen in the 616 verse. All this came to be during the book battle scars.

what crap. I was really willing to give this book a chance but now Peter wont even be in it! Peter Parker is like one of a FEW characters I actually like in the Marvel Universe and now he not even going to be Spider-Man? Marvel ruined my intrest in the Ultimate Universe with that Miles Morales junk and now this. I cant say im looking forward to whats coming next.

I'll still be reading. I've read Spider-Man since Spider-Island and Slott has yet to disappoint me.

@InnerVenom123: Or he's simply toying with us by saying it isn't Peter because this Peter doesn't consider himself to be Peter anymore because of his morals. So he is Peter but at the same time he isn't in character! this is the theory i'm sticking with until I get blatantly told that it isn't Peter in the suit.
