once again, great selection hard to pick a fav

#2 Posted by neiliusprime (254 posts) - - Show Bio

I like how Daniel HDR was the only one that used the symbiote suit

#3 Posted by zackattack529 (1404 posts) - - Show Bio

THIS IS AWESOME!! how much do they usually charge for this??

#4 Posted by Strider92 (16253 posts) - - Show Bio

It amazes me how some of them are so good they can just draw and not have to rub out or correct anything. I guess when you're doing it for a living its to be expected but damn.

#5 Posted by jaytiz27 (68 posts) - - Show Bio

Loved the second one. Her voice seems to suit her art style too ha ha.

#6 Posted by hunter5024 (128 posts) - - Show Bio

I love these. Agnes' was the best, but I'm totally biased, I just got a commission from her after seeing pictures from the weekly art thingy on here. She's just as nice as she seems!

#7 Posted by FoxxFireArt (3553 posts) - - Show Bio

Agnes seems just as adorable as her art work. Don't think I didn't notice her Black Lantern ring either.

Hey, Tony. Would you feel offended if I said that I knew Francis Manapul was drawing you as a zombie as soon as I saw him pencil in the nose?

#8 Posted by Planewalker (325 posts) - - Show Bio

Man I still hate that chibi cartoonish crap!!! But she does good color work...

#9 Posted by Decept-O (7275 posts) - - Show Bio

Awesome stuff.

#10 Posted by doordoor123 (3721 posts) - - Show Bio

Agnes Garbowska is really attractive. Just FYI.

I like seeing artists with different styles taking on characters they don't usually draw. \

Grrrrrreat job!

#11 Posted by reecesearch (5 posts) - - Show Bio

Agnes did her thing on this one. Basically the same concept as most of the other artists (having Spider-Man shooting webbing), but the execution surpassed theirs in my opinion. She's locked in and owns her particular style. It would be great to see more females incorporated into this kind of challenge. Watching so many artists approach to the same task had me imagining what I would have tried or thought of right there on the spot. Pressure. Well, 'fun' pressure.

This was really amazing. Thanks for doing this !

@FoxxFireArt: Doctor Guerrero lives!

No offense taken. I didn't realize until I noticed Francis looking up at me occasionally.

Kind of off-topic, but the song beginning at 3:48 is so soothing.

@ClintsEvilTwin: I saw Marcus To doing a Tim Drake commission and was using a regular Bic pen. Then seeing them all use Sharpies as well. It's all pretty cool what they can do with simple tools.

These Mystery Art Challenges just keep getting better and better.

#18 Posted by riiiiiiiight (98 posts) - - Show Bio

Its' all about Todd Nauck

#19 Posted by DonFelipe (1096 posts) - - Show Bio

Francis Manapul is the only one who's zombie actually bites Spider so he's my winner although the bubble ruins it a little bit at the end. A very close 2nd goes to Agnes Grabowska. Her zombie looks funny and I usually don't even like her style much. Has she ever done any zombie comic before?

She was wearing a Black Lantern ring so she must have been ready for this challenge.

#20 Posted by FoxxFireArt (3553 posts) - - Show Bio
@G-Man
Yeah, that's kind of a give away.
#21 Posted by Webjaker (366 posts) - - Show Bio

Looking good Tony, you lose weight?

I love this segment, so cool to see the drastic differing styles of the artists take on the same concept

The one from Francis Manapul is the best for me.I like it the most.

#24 Posted by Ulfghuld (35 posts) - - Show Bio

Agnes Garbowska is my favorite hands down. She does amazing work in a short period of time!!!

#25 Posted by DonFelipe (1096 posts) - - Show Bio

@G-Man said:

@DonFelipe: She actually has a webcomic called 'You, Me, and Zombie.'

Haha, sooo cute! Love it! Did I mention I usually don't like her art?

A little girl in a world full of zombie people. Works perfectly, again!

Thanks for the link.

Interesting! The first thing that came to my mind was "it could be the perfect starting point for my little nephew". Right now, he's still too young though.

They were all awesome!

Agnes Garbowska, Francis Manapul, Daniel HDR and Brian Buccellato were the best!

:D

#29 Posted by Bestostero (5618 posts) - - Show Bio

They all were amazing, but Francis Manapul's picture was my favorite lol

#30 Posted by briyen (16 posts) - - Show Bio

and the artist couple of manapul and agnes takes it! too much talent

#31 Posted by SolthesunGod (278 posts) - - Show Bio

Brian Buccellato and Agnes Garbowska were both adorable. This was a fun challenge. When I saw the title I was a bit like uhh, more Spiderman but it was fun seeing all these different takes on idea. Something I was curious about though which isn't mentioned on the video is the time it took to do each illustration. It's not necessary to be there it's just something I would personally be curious about.

#32 Posted by uggiboogie (18 posts) - - Show Bio

Agnes Garbowska ist like the sweetest thing in the whole world..you have to love her :))

#33 Posted by Mandrewgora (295 posts) - - Show Bio

This is one of my favorite things you guys do during cons, also zombie Tony is great.

#34 Posted by CitizenJP (596 posts) - - Show Bio

Ugh I want those shading markers so bad. Is there a specific name for those or nah? I'm quite curious, I've only ever seen standard markers at local art supply stores. Maybe I need to look harder. ;o

#35 Posted by sho3s22 (121 posts) - - Show Bio

Francis Manapul FTW! How much did that one run you?

#36 Posted by artiom1q2w (344 posts) - - Show Bio

all the words i have in my mind is cool, awesome drawings, i like it and wow

#37 Posted by dcfox (152 posts) - - Show Bio

Good Art Challenge but not crazy enough! Next time, Spider-Man with a pie, on a roller coaster with a zombie.

Also, these look like they take a while to do. Do you stand and watch the artist the whole time? If so, do you say anything?

#38 Posted by darkraven52 (13 posts) - - Show Bio

Great art! It's very interesting how each artist gives his/her little touch that make each piece unique and great. And I absolutely loved Walsh's drawing.

#39 Posted by G-Man (32252 posts) - - Show Bio

@dcfox: Normally they've been around ten minutes or less. These were going at twenty-ish minutes. I watch. We talk during.

Wow these are all great! I like Nguyen assigning a "WTF" moment to Spidey in midst of the zombies. And Garbowska is just...so cute ^_^. Nauck's was wonderful in its hues of black and red, making it almost have a Walking Dead motif to it! Giarusso's is so darn adorable it makes me laugh..."POP!" Manapul's nomming zombie piece with Peter is stellar! Walsh's attention to detail was definitely not lost on me, great job! Looks like HDR had to take some thought before starting there, but kudos to him for doing the symbiote Spider-Man for his piece! And Booch is...well Booch is just purely awesome! Ahhhhh, Zombie Gwen!

#41 Posted by RoTheKid (253 posts) - - Show Bio

Wow man, REALLY good vid! I enjoyed it a lot! I have to say, I liked Agnes' work and HDR's. Loved how he used the symbiote suit! Great stuff!! I bet that sketch book that you have will be worth quite a bit some day! :)

#42 Posted by jshenriquez (1 posts) - - Show Bio

Mystery art challenge is a great idea, keeps the artists on their toes, but its Francis, Agnes, then Todd.

#43 Posted by Mucklefluga (2545 posts) - - Show Bio

Yes! Mystery Art Challenge! I love it! It's great seeing how each different artist draws in their different ways. Agnes' was the best tho!

Is that a zombified Olive in Agnes' drawing? They are both wearing cowboy boots it looks like.

#46 Posted by G-Man (32252 posts) - - Show Bio

@Xylase: I took it as Mary Jane. Going in for the upside Spider-Man kiss. And Spidey is saying 'no thanks' in his way.

I really liked how they all managed to get some sort of story going on.... Especially with Gwen and MJ.

Francis Manapul is such a boss.

#49 Posted by t84nightfall (23 posts) - - Show Bio

I want Agnes' so bad. That was awesome, and I love all of that type of art. Cute but awesome.
