Is fantastic four (the new series) the next best thing for marvel? or perhaps the hulk? What do u think?

#2 Posted by JetiiMitra (8167 posts) - - Show Bio

The best thing is forgetting Marvel and heading over to Valiant, or Image, or IDW. Or all of them.

Okay, not really, but it is a good thing to do.

Nope. Marvel for me. ALLWWAAYYS not even DC. I love stan Lee's creations.

The Indestructible Hulk and Thor: God of Thunder are both pretty great right now.

Well F4 is getting cancelled in place of a new F4 series so I wouldn't say that's doing the best right now either. If you want a good Marvel book I suggest reading Hulk. Great book. There a few others to suggest like GotG or Nova or even upcoming books in the ANMN wave.

You should really branch out TC. DC, IDW, and Image have some really great series going on.

The fact that Pete's dead sucks....the story itself is good....

And we just got the first glimpse of his return.

@dark_guyver: Your lack of Valiant in that answer is inexcusable! Exterminate!

#10 Posted by Dark_Guyver (2294 posts) - - Show Bio

@maccyd: I actually don't read anything from Valiant. Hmmm.. Maybe I should branch out more too.

I think we're going to get more and more in the coming issues...the preview for the next issue shows Madame Webb waking from her coma

You're missing out on sooooooo much it's not even funny. That's like going to a buffet and only eating pizza because "I like Italian food."

1. Spiderman's current comics don't suck

2. Hulk is a pretty good book

I've basically switched back over to DC, but I've personally been enjoying Cable and the X-Force (but I've always been a fan of Cable), I was enjoying the Hulk until they started the time travel story and though I've read most of the issues, I haven't been able to latch on to the current Fantastic Four story.

As for the future for Marvel, the only thing I think looks good may be the new New Warriors or the new X-Factor, but we'll have to wait to see.

Spidey comics suck? Must be reading the wrong stuff then because I've been loving the crap outta Superior Spider-man, Superior Foes and Team-Up. Scarlet and Venom have been ace too.

Hell, Ultimate Comics Spider-Man is awesome as well.

#17 Edited by angelalfonso (950 posts) - - Show Bio

All new xmen it really good, you should give it a try.

#18 Posted by GraniteSoldier (6938 posts) - - Show Bio

I don't think Superior is bad, even though I hate Otto. But you're supposed to hate the villain, so I consider it a success. Venom and Scarlet Spider are incredibly good, but Venom just ended this month and Scarlet is ending soon, still if you haven't read them they are worth checking out.

Barring any of the above titles, Indestructible Hulk is my favorite Marvel title, check it out.

X-Men (not All New, Uncanny, anything like that, JUST X-Men) is only about 5-6 issues in and it's really good so far. Especially if you're a fan of the female X-characters as they are getting spotlighted.

I liked Scarlet and ultimate too... Kaine and miles were boss, but if you haven't realized yet... those are all being canceled.

The majority seems to be saying that indestructible hulk is a good book. Ill be sure to check that one out to even though i just purchased the first fantastic four worlds greatest heroes. The only thing with indestructible hulk I've noticed is that he wears an armor suit. I'm not quite sure I like that due to the fact that hulk's biggest quality is his strength. The suit takes from that because it's kind of stating that hulk is vulnerable enough to need armor. Either way I'll be sure to give it a shot. Thanks guys.

I feel the exact same way. I mean,I read DC's old stuff and like them equally, but since that universe is not present at the moment,it's Marvel in a landslide for me.

HOWEVER,this is a subjective matter. I think of Marvel and DC (their old universe, with some tweaks) as my soulmate. I have tried some others, but have not really liked them as much

I also like Superior. Same with those other ones

Hulk is good.

Sorry but I think Spider-Man sucks right now.

Scarlet Spider is ending but you should get it anyways since it's really good.

Thor: God of Thunder is also pretty good.

Young Avengers is another good one.

You should also try Captain Marvel.

I plan on getting the upcoming New Warriors.

I do think you should expand and look into a few other companies.

That's a great analogy for Marvel.

I'm not going to tell you how to spend your money. I'm just telling you my opinion of a good way to spend your money. Choice is up to you. I respect your position even if I don't agree with it.
