Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider as a teenager, granting him spider-like powers. After the death of his Uncle Ben, Peter learned that "with great power, comes great responsibility." Swearing to always protect the innocent from harm, Peter Parker became Spider-Man.
I personally think the upcoming "Amazing" movie looks great, but if they miss one HUGE thing they missed in the Raimi movies, I'm officially tuning out for Spidey movies:
In the comics Peter Parker is a wise cracking, generally upbeat kid from queens, that LOVES pissing off villians/criminals with endless banter while he fights. If you ask me, it's a pretty big part of the character, and if they miss that, they're generally missing a large part of Peter Parker's personality.
And I don't know if this is just me, or what, but Peter Parker in the Raimi movies acted all depressed and just generally weird all the time, and it just kinda annoyed me.
why are you bringing this up? sure thats a big part of his character, but we have hardly seen enough of the film to even begin desribing whats going to be "right" or "wrong" with it
At Comic Con, they showed a bunch of clips from the movie. One of them was spidey pretending to be scared of a criminal and messing around with him while he was throwing him around.
@sesquipedalophobe: That too. Even reading the classic, old Amazing Spider-Man comics with the incredibly stingy dialogue, I still laugh at Spidey's banter.
@zombietag: I never said anything would be right or wrong with it. If you'll notice, I used the word "if".
