The tech piece is also interesting.

They must have another use. Having something just for slashing seems too blunt for Otto. Maybe they are hooked up to his tech and allow him to take samples from what he touchs so he can scan it?

Okay... this is actually looking cool. Like Spider-Man + Batman: Arkham City. I'm almost worried that things will go too far back into the status quo when Peter returns. Keep Ock's tech, let that be a perminent change when Amazing gets back.

Maybe they're meant to take DNA samples? EDIT: Actually, doesn't it look like the goggles are pinpointing an area on the Spider and then Ock stuck the claws in that specific area?

I find that the goggles look creepy.....

It may take a sample or be able to inject poison etc..
