    Like a spiderman/Peter Parker in his 30's?

If not would you consider a run with a grown up, mature Spider-Man?

Spider-man has been grown since the 70s. Not in his 30s but still.

He's been in his 30's in Dan Slott's recent/not very recent run - but that was recently retconned and he's 28 now - bitten by the Radioactive Spider 13 years ago, so...

Superior Spider-Man was basically an adult Spider-Man, that's probably the closest you can get.

They did in the AU-based Spidergirl where he had retired and become Stephen Strange by the looks of it:

@thorson: He has grown up though Marvel seems to currently not like that and keep trying to de-age him.

I always thought he looked more like Dr. Quest in that universe.

The Mr. and Mrs Spider-Man strips back in 2008 played about with a more grown-up Peter and MJ looking after Mayday when she was little whilst Peter was still active as Spider-Man, but they were cut short. They were really good. I think the MC2 timeline has more right to be called the legit Spidey reality than 616 and would'nt mind more from it in it's early days. DC are exploring the early history of their revised Earth 2 and it could do with competition

Despite retiring, Peter still put on the webs every so often in the Spider-Girl comics when the danger was too great for his daughter to handle alone.

I don't know how old Peter is in the newspaper comics, but it seems to follow real time so I imagine he and MJ are either in their mid or late thirties there

@avenging_x_bolt: nvm, that was back in the 90s . My bad .

A good way to remember how old he is is to look at Cyclops. They're pretty much exactly the same age.

Also worth mentioning is the fact that he was middle-aged in Earth X.

I can tell you this with absolute authority, the Peter Parker from present day 616 continuity has never been in his 30's. Ever.

It's canon that he was bitten when he was a sophomore in high school.

In the not-too-distant past, the Fantastic Four's rocket launch was set on a sliding time scale of "10 years ago."

In recent years, that increased to "13 years ago."

At no point in Marvel 616 lore has it ever stretched further than that. And the FF were already a number of adventures in when Peter got bitten by the spider. Therefore the oldest he could possibly be now is 27 or 28 years old.

Not really up for argument. These are the facts. This is the way it is. :-)

    @danslott:

12/13 years since the FF were transformed was established around the time of Civil War (Ben celebrated a sort of Bar Mitzvah to commemorate the occasion), so that's 27 or 28. It was then one year between the death of Captain America at the end of Civil War and his resurrection just before Siege (see Captain America 500). So that puts Spidey at the age of 28 or 29 at the end of Siege. Anyone got a time line for how much time has passed in the time it took for:

    - Fear Itself to happen
    - The mutant schism to occur, the mutants to separate, and then for the Avengers vs. X-Men event to happen
    - The Age of Ultron probably took no time at all, I'll give you that
    - The Young Avengers to disband, which we then see Spider-Island, the death and resurrection of Johhny Storm, and the aforementioned Mutant Schism to happen, then for them to come together again with a new roster under Loki, and then disband again, the events of which Power Man refers to as happening "last year" in the Mighty Avengers?

Now I don't expect accuracy, but it does seem unless a finite timeline is given, it IS up for argument.

Love your work by the way

    just clarify something for me

Is Peter appearing on Johnny Carson during his "Webs" book publicity tour still canon in 616? Or, as a result of the time-scale sliding, will that ever be retconned to an apperance on Conan?

The revisions just do my head in when I think that far back...it's probably a silly thing to mull over

What do you estimate the newspaper strip Peter's age is?

It gets confusing in some other realitiys, the daily strip in 2013 referenced an adventure with the Tarantula had occured the year before, I've been reading the strips since the "BND was a dream" retcon and no such adventure happened in between 2009 and 2013

Hey Mr. Slott can tell Joe Quesada i hate him?

And not for the reason he believe, i have a more personal reason to hate him, just tell him i know about that Red Hair "Chick" in his prom dance.

Also it depend of the timeline, for some reason some character have longer years that others.

There is no way the comics could reference and include things from the 90s back then and still claim Peter is in his twenties. To hell with the "sliding time scale", all Slott did was confirm modern day 616 is an alternate universe

Spidey is 28 in the comics... not really sure about anything older than that, though, sorry :(
