I'm with you at this point. Carlie is actually suspicious of "Peter" but MJ is just trying to jump his bones unthinkingly.

Only cause Slott and Quesada are desperately trying to ruin MJ.

Quesada at least has made it clear that he doesn't like MJ, and his attempt with One More Day to be rid of her didn't work as she remained popular with fans despite that. So now we have Carlie, created by Quesada and Slott, and literally named after Quesada's daughter, that they are going to try to host up while also writing MJ out of character to make her look bad.

It's a bad story by a bad writer being pushed by a bad editor.

Really, Superior Spider-man #2 is the first time I've actually liked Carlie Cooper. In Spider-Island, I literally hated her. Also, I don't think Quesada and Slott are trying to destroy Mary Jane.

I'm generally against Carlie, as long as she opposes MJ. But if it gets Pete free of Otto faster, I am all for Carlie's return and reassertion.

I don't mind the idea of Peter being with someone other than MJ, but...they were married. They loved each other for years and they got married. There's a part of me that will never actually let that go. But the rest of me, which accepts that continuity-wise they got un-married, still feels like if they're going to go separate ways it ought to be more organic, in a way that's in-character for everyone. @gotwillpower: I think the issue folks have isn't that Carlie is likeable, but that MJ has suddenly been made stupid and/or unlikeable (to make way for Carlie, or just because). I think it's probably possible to like Carlie and still hate what Slott/Quesada are doing to the Peter/MJ bond.
