A friend of mine told me that there is an issue where Spider-Man gets Phoenix powers and defeats Galactus. Is this true? If so, does anyone have a scan to show and prove that this happened? Thank you.
Spider-Man
Character » Spider-Man appears in 17246 issues.
Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive spider as a teenager, granting him spider-like powers. After the death of his Uncle Ben, Peter learned that "with great power, comes great responsibility." Swearing to always protect the innocent from harm, Peter Parker became Spider-Man.
Galactus vs. Spider-Man??
There's a point in Marvel Zombies where Spider-Man absorbs some of Galactus's Powers, I haven't read any of the Marvel Zombies books but they allude to it in the first couple pages of Marvel Zombies: The Return. Figured you might be interested in that.
" Hey guys are u talking about Mr.cobwebs going against Mr. Cosmic? wow! what a concept "its actually Mr. Coswebs gets Cosmic Powers VS Mr Cosmic
its not really a battle Thread... the author is asking how did SPIDER-Phoenix Defeat Galactus
oh thanks anyway, but like i said i really wasnt asking as i really didnt want to know.
that was victorymakers question. i know better than to avoid a comic with a premise like that.lol.
Spiderman would destroy beat him hes a super genuis he would find i way to destroy him galactus can be hurt he can use a modifired energy blast from his ends of earth suits and scrable his ciruiting spider man would find a way to win easy no help needed
Spidey beat Firelord.
Firelord is a herald of Galactus.
Spidey could become a herald of Galactus, receive the Power Cosmic, and then outsmart him.
Yeah that's totally how it works :)
Spider-Man beats Firelord
Firelord is a herald of Galactus
Silver Surfer is a herald of Galactus
Silver Surfer beat Galactus in Fantastic Four 2
Spider-Man > Firelord = Silver Surfer > Galactus
It's an absolute joke to suggest that spiderman beats galactus.
ESPECIALLY without some kind of ridiculous poorly written cosmic power boost in an attempt to spark life into a dwindling spiderman comic. Galactus turns Parker into vapor by blinking at the idea of it.
And in what world is silver surfer/fire lord > Galactus? That is absurd and ignorant.
@mitran: sadly I did not. It's hard to tell sometimes with the comments that appear on some of these forums
Spider-Man is like Batman, give him prep and powers and stuff and he can't lose.
Everything this guy says.
I seem to remember a series in the 80s or 90s where all the major Marvel super heroes get transported off of Earth in a huge battle with Galactus and in the end it's Spider-Man who saves the day and defeats Galactus.
none
seriously
Out of interest, which comic did this come from?
Spiderman with prep > Batman with prep?!
One word = Superpowers.

Of course. Superior powers + Superior Intellect! :)

A mini-series called 'Spider-Man and the Secret Wars'. In this issue it shows what happened when Spidey had Beyonder's powers for like an attosecond as they passed through him to Doom. Or something like that - it's been a VERY long time since I read it.
