Even if you are not the biggest Spider-Man fan, you have to admit that "Web-Head" definitely translates well onto both the big and small screens. Bottom line, Peter Parker is entertaining. He is light-hearted, fun and not to mention one of the most popular comic book characters of all time; so the decision to bring him to life on the small screen was probably a no-brainer for Marvel.

This weekend 'Ultimate Spider-Man' will be swinging onto Disney XD for the first time, and it will be unlike any other Spider-Man television series we have seen so far. Not only is the animation and approach different (expect Spidey to break the fourth wall in this one), but the show will also also be the first Marvel produced show. Something that, according to comics veteran Jeph Loeb and EVP of Marvel Television, will make it "have much more of Marvel's DNA." This is good news for fans of Spider-Man who have been waiting for a solid, well produced Marvel television show; and by the looks of the sizzle reel released earlier, the focus of Marvel's upcoming 'Ultimate Spider-Man' will be fun.

To commemorate the premiere of the first episode of 'Ultimate Spider-Man' Marvel will be hosting kick-off parties in both Los Angeles and New York tomorrow and will feature the creators and actors behind the television show. Looks pretty good. I'm just afraid we won't have the Spider-man stories we fans want. But then again, maybe some new direction for the character might be cool to see.

Oh, darnit I thought I beat the staff to it =(... but yeah I have very high hopes for this series. Very excited for it.

I loved Spectacular Spiderman.

on the other hand:

1. I hate the ultimate Marvel universe.

2. I hate Nick Fury

3. I hate the fact that the better show in my opinion got cancelled for this.

I can't watch the video for some reason, but he sounds like Spider-Man to me based on other clips I have seen and heard.

Well considering I like Ultimate Spidey way more than 616 Spidey, I'll definitely watch it, but I doubt it'll be as good as "Spectacular Spider-Man" which was unjustly cancelled.

I will definitely watch this and I thought Drake Bell was perfect for the part. I'm pretty excited for the series, but I didn't like some of the 4th wall stuff they put in there.

Seeing as I have zero interest in the Ultimate Universe, I think I'll just stick with Avengers: EMH :)

I'm still not super sold on this but thats mainly because I LOVES Spectacular Spider-Man!!! It looks solid though and it can't be worse than the 90's Spider-Man

This may be great, but I honestly wish they would have just brought back Spectacular Spider-Man. that show was amazing. It had the potential to be the Batman TAS for the Spidey franchise.

On the one hand I do like the idea this series has in sort of going the approach the Teen Titans cartoon had but I would rather see Spectacular Spider-man

I'm just not sure about the feel of the fourth wall stuff...if this was a Deadpool show that would be great, but I don't like thinking of Spidey in that light. I do think that have an awesome voice cast for something like this. Hopefully with Marvel at the helm of it all this wont be a flop.

For now I will give it a chance, since ultimate spiderman was an incredible comic, but it does not look as good as spectacular spiderman was thats for damn sure.

I honestly wasn't a fan of Spectacular Spiderman. For whatever reason the animation style or their was just something I didn't like about that Peter I couldn't get into it. So I'm all for Ultimate Spiderman! and I agree with whoever said it looks like it has the Teen Titans cartoon humor which I really liked.

It doesn't feel unnatural, its just that its been associated with something else that it's hard to get fully around. I personally like it but I still remember Drake and Josh when I hear it. When I watched the 90's cartoon, I only associated Peter's voice with being Spider-Man, nothing else.

I got excited about that too, JK Simmons was bron to play JJJ. I hope that they don't recast him in the new spider man movies.

When I first saw previews of the show, I was like ''WTF'' in block capitals ( cuz Nick Fury is gay ) but after a month, seeing this and the introduction other characters and they way how spidey sort of looked like the Spidey in TAS and how it was funny they turned spidey into a chibi form made me change my mind.

I look forward to this! Marvel needs to put up a good fight if it wants to compete with Young Justice. I can see this as a nice contender. The voice cast is great and the fighting seems to be cool too. The last marvel I saw was Super Hero Squad... So Marvel, you can only get better in my eyes.

Being in the Ultimate Universe kinda opens up a lot of possibilities, especially with the Death of Peter in the Ultimate Comics.

I mean this shows that Marvel in Ultimate universe doesn't pull any punches. I wonder if they will carry those contrevorsial decisions.

Well..at least I'll check out the pilot...not sure I'll stay along, I'm really missing Spectacular, which this above could have easily been turned into Spectacular Spider-Man Season 3 with little changes...and don't tell me Disney could continue/buy Spectacular, they own the ip!

I'm fearing one season,. it gets canned and replaced by a new show in time for the rebooted movie's sequel.

My only complaint is they should have saved the 4th wall jokes for Deadpool. 
 
So what will they do when they want to do a Deadpool animated series, like they've already hinted at or what if Deadpool guest stars in this series? Two animated series with 4th wall breaking superheroes is a bit too much.

this looks promising. prbly wont be as good as Spectacular but never know. also, i just watched the Smug Alert episode of South Park and every time this Spidey opened his mouth i was reminded of that.
