Not odd at all, I happen to agree with this. But I do love Gwen.

Black Cat. She can actually take care of herself, doesn't hold a grudge or overreact to stupid stuff, is actually a FRIEND to Peter on top of being a girlfriend and has a mischievous side that is really sexy and fits well with Parker's personality.

@punyparker: If I could I would rate his love interest in the following order

1-Silver Sable

because I see her as a mixture of both Mary Jane and Black Cat. She has the serious but impulsive side of Mary Jane and the adventurous and look after oneself confidence of Black Cat. Because every-time I read an issue where Spider-man & Silver Sable teamed up I always felt that she had more than a romantic interest in him and the interaction between them felt more than your average conversing and looking out for ones team-mate, it was even made more evident during ASM #679 & ASM #685, and it was played with in the last three pages of What If...? #21 - What if the Amazing Spider-Man had Married the Black Cat?

2-Mary Jane

She will be someone outside his life as Spider-man, she can be as someone he can go to talk with if he ever felt emotionally and morally confused and if he every gave up being Spider-man she can be someone he can spend his life with. But although she can take care of herself, there are enemies where the danger to her will be beyond what she can handle.

3- Black Cat

She is someone, he doesn't have to worry about as she can handle most of Spider-man's enemies, someone who will be behind him every step of the way. but as someone he can confide in to give him emotional and moral guidance, her being a thief might not make her the best option, she wouldn't have what Spider-man would need. Also as partner outside being Spider-man I have doubts that it would work.

mary jane- she balance him out & always supports him.

Blackcat- she's mysterious, unpredictable, reliable and sexy

1. I loved those issues,would love to see how their relashionship would go......(at least she's tall......if you know what i mean...)

2. Here's the thing......Spider-Man/Peter Parker craves for a normal life.He didn't choose to be Spider-Man.....he didn't choose to have these powers.....so he WANTS to be with someone like Mary Jane Watson,because he feels normal,and....a simple human,you know!?......let's make a contraire on this arguement....
Batman.He chose to be what he is.He didn't have powers,he wasn't bitten by a radioactive bat.He trained,mind and body to be what he is.So that makes him a man who WANTED to be Batman.Who wanted this "powers"......so....that also makes Selina Kyle the most appropriate companion.Because she's in Batman's world.She's not in Bruce Wayne's......
Spider-Man wants to be Peter Parker......Bruce Wayne wants to be Batman.I believe i made it clear.

3. To be absolutely honest,most of Spider-Man's villians would have killed her.....in the first fight......Norman wouldn't have to fight at all......but you're right,she can protect herself,and Peter would have less guilt(if thats possible) on his shoulders....

I'm pretty divided because I like the dynamic he has with Black Cat but on the other hand I really like MJ as a character but on the third side,Gwen has always been perfect for him.

yes. Ultimate Gwen is way better than MJ. Her and Peter actually develop a relationship whereas Ultimate MJ and Peter are basically together from the start just because their names are MJ and Peter. MJ is also pretty dull in USM imo.

Even when Gwen broke up with him it was awesome.
