It's not even a competition. Spectacular Spider-Man was leagues above every other show in terms of quality in voice acting, action, animation, tone, plot, and pacing.

Spectacular followed by TNAS.. 90s show was alright but it really doesn't have that much going for it apart from nostalgia.

Word, put nostalgia aside, and 90s Spider-Man was HEAVILY edited, had soap opera dialogue and very stiff, ridged animation which made for whelming fight sequences. I mean compared to fights like THIS,

it's a no brainer who wins. Plus, Peter wasn't funny in the 90s version, and Peter Parker not being funny is a travesty.

I tried to go back and watch the 90's show out of nostalgia's sake but honestly, it wasn't that great the second time around. Copy and pasted action scenes and backgrounds, choppy animation and clear limitations in the action sequences. I will say that the story lines were pretty great though.

Spectacular Spider-Man, easily. The '90s cartoon is okay and all, but it doesn't hold up very well, especially when compared to Batman: TAS and X-Men: TAS. Spectacular Spider-Man "got" Spider-Man. It was faithful to the comics, it had fun action sequences, and it also had a really strong supporting cast. I really liked its adaption of the "If This Be My Destiny..." storyline, and I like how it alluded to Harry's drug problems.

Whoa! So I was 4 years old when Spider-Man 1994 came out? Damn! I was watching that show when I was 6-10.

I couldn't even understand yet speak english until I was 10 years old. No wonder so many old TV shows trip me out now. I watched Beast Wars, X-Men, Power Rangers, etc, and I trip out like... Ohhh so that's what was going on.

Back on Topic: I liked 94, Unlimited, Spectacular, and I like Ultimate (yeah I said it.)

Honestly I like 94 the best. I think Spectacular and Ultimate are fairly the same when it comes to how much I like them. Heck I might even prefer the animation on Ultimate than Spectacular. I would very much like it if Ultimate Spider-Man had more than just the 1st season on Netflix.

PS I seen the entire season of SM 94 at least twice; I'd say 3 times but I am not 100% sure.

Spider-man 1994 hands down. That cartoon is the reason why I love super heroes and why spiderman is one of my fav heroes of all time. I remember waking up every Saturday morning to turn onto fox kids and watch spiderman team up with iron man dr. Strange and captain america. To this day anytime I read a spiderman comic I still read the comics as if the spiderman is voiced the cartoons voice actor. Good times good times.

@the_stegman: I've seen the "Funny Scenes" and they really take out all the fun stuff.......season 1 ep 2 with Black Widow(the Robot) his quips are plain amazing!....and he's a funny guy,in general!.....

All i'm trying to say is that the funny stuff are in,and good!....

And no i wont compare this. It's stupid.Of cource Spectacular is "better" and i love the show, and THAT'S WHAT I VOTED FOR!

I grew up with the 90's show.I spend one of my teenage years with Spectacular.I've seen dozens of times the 90's show.I've seen dozens of times Spectacular Spider-Man.

    See?....that's why comparison is stupid.

And i'm not sayin that nostalgia critic is a logical judge,of cource not.I grew up with Power Rangers too.....I love the show. It's horrible.
Just "Spider-Man" gave people ehat they really wanted.SPIDER-MAN!!.....Yeah,it was twiched as hell, but Spider-Man/Peter Parker was the one from the comics!

Eh, I suppose we have different tastes, I never laughed at the 90s show, and I too grew up with it, even then I didn't think it was funny. And a comparision isn't stupid, they're two shows about Spider-Man, they are bound to be compared, it's only logical.

Compare "30 seconds to Mars" to Queen.....they're both rock bands,right!?.....Compare Michael Jackson to One Direction.....they're both producing pop music!
Or on the other hand, compare Messi to Ronaldo....they both play football,right!?......compare Muse to Radiohead...they both play rock music.Compare Heath Ledger to Jack Nickollson...they both played Joker!

There are two options....1.Uncomparable,and 2.They both do a great job at what they do......guess what's the case here,in our topic of conversation.

And if you're sayin the dialog was cheesy.....please....go read Jerry Conway's run.....you'll never touch cheese again. :)
