I was just thinking about this for some reason while laying in bed. If Spider-Man was to be in danger while sleeping, would his spider sense wake him up, or is he just as screwed as the rest of us?

Don't see why it wouldn't all your other senses work while your sleeping like the smell of smoke has woken people up and saved them from burning houses before

I would honestly chock it up to the writer. The Spider-Sense seems to "malfunction" at the best of times, so even though it should work while he's asleep, I'm not sure that the writer would have it work. If that makes sense.

I have a Marvel encyclopedia somewhere around and I think I remember it saying that it does work while he's sleeping. I'll have a look for it later and post the name of the book.

Probably a writer thing.

I remember when he got knocked out without warning, then got a tingle while knocked out so he could wake up and dodge another blow.

I'm pretty sure he has been woken up by it a few times.

Not sure that's been put to the test or not. I mean some might say it must've but I don't know if he has ever had to dodge an enemy that crept up while he was sleeping. I'm pretty sure he has been woken up in the middle of the night from it though, just sensing general danger in the area.

Anyway I think it should still work if he was attacked while sleeping or otherwise.

There was that time that Morwen's arrival woke Peter up through his spider-sense, with great discomfort.

Yes it does he said it at the end of JMS first arc after beating Morlun that when he was asleep his Spider-sense would go off if someone came in to attack him.
