    Spider-Man: The New Animated Series "Sword of Shikata "

     
    A lot of you said yesterday that you really enjoyed the episode we posted (sorry again to those of you who can not watch the show overseas). How did you like the first episode? How does this second one compare? How do you feel about the show featuring characters that may not ever have appeared in comics before (Shikata and Richard Damien)? Do you prefer it when they cartoons remain consistent with what goes on in the comic books?
      
      
      
        

    Overview


    Wealthy collector RICHARD DAMIEN (John C. McGinley) hires martial artist SHIKATA (Gina Gershon) to capture SPIDER-MAN (Neil Patrick Harris). MJ (Lisa Loeb) shows up to help SPIDEY in his battle.

    Hmm.... Again this show is horrible. I'm sure the people whom dislike it far out weigh those that do.

    I had this on DVD a few years ago it was an okay show but nothing special.

    This is pretty cool. I didn't get the opportunity to catch all the episodes on it's original run. Thanks for posting them. I'm making chicken strips for dinner tonight. I think I'll watch this after I'm done.

    The villains appear to be original creations but Shikata may be based off of someone

    I actually think it was a decent cartoon. I enjoyed watching it on YTV up in Canada a couple of years back. I thought it was better than Spiderman the animated series/Spiderman Unlimited on par with the current incarnation

    I noticed something while I was watching this. Watch carefully at the moment MJ is taken hostage. Spidey's right glove will disappear, reappear, then disappear again.
     
    One thing I always thought was silly with this series. Harry Osborn in this series looks like no other Harry there has ever been, including the movies. He looks more like Flash Thompson.

     I was disappointed with the ending of the series and the fact that Black Cat dosent make an appearance  
     
    but it want actually to bad allthough id prob prefer the approach the original animated series took

    I liked this Spider-man Show, because Spider-man has no restraints to what he can say or do. I think they should have done a 2nd season

    when its a show like this, in between movies or just exploring things not in the comics, i prefer they use new characters. 
     ive voiced time and time again my hatred for tv shows and movies that drastically alter the stories that we know and love. So i appreciate the shows that try not to tread on the toes of these characters timelines.

    I love this episode the best, out of all of them. Shikata may have been a replacement for Kraven, but she was so damn good. She's like Spider-Man's Elektra, but with mystic powers. The only thing I didn't like was that we didn't get to know who Shikata was, and how she got those powers of hers, maybe it was going to be explained in the next season. On dvd with commentary, I found out that Stan Lee actually liked Shikata, that may not mean much, but it should mean something to someone out there.
