I don't think Spider-man as a legacy can be limited to being heterosexual Ie: another person under the mask. Some of the best characters are gay. Midnighter being a prime example. However Peter Parker isn't gay. It would be like making Midnighter straight just for no reason.

but seriously folks, making him gay accomplishes nothing, because then he becomes a character who is gay, and is popular in spite of his sexual orientation, and it would not be the same as a gay character starting gay, and achieving a spider-man status on it's own. In other words bad.

If he was gay, but they still had a female MJ and introduced a new character to be his love interest, I'd be all for it.

Um,not like his sexuality really matters...but Peter Parker isn't homosexual. Not only that,but he was created during a time when homosexuals were still (highly) looked down upon...not that it's roses and flowers here,but.....

Anyway,if he was created Gay during his creation (although since the time,Idk if he would be AS popular....perhaps he would be),then it would be a bit different. But Spiderman simply wasn't created homosexual. He's not gay....

It's like saying "Why don't we make Spiderman a female?". I mean,given the time during his creation,it certainly would help the dearth of women in comics...perhaps he wouldn't be as popular,and perhaps he would.

Ultimately,it doesn't impact his character or anything,but he wasn't created as a female and that shouldn't change now being that it's not part of his character. If he was created so,I would be fine with it,but since he's not...no. It's basically pointless,while his race,sexual orientation,gender,religion,etc don't MAKE his character,they are all still part of his character. To change it now,he just wouldn't be Peter Parker,just someone else with his name....kinda ironic given the current situation lol.

Ok, so it is no secret that I am a liberal and 100% an advocate of gay rights, gay marriage, etc. That being said I am SO sick of the gay lifestyle being shoved on already established characters. This happens more in the comic book world (movies and books.) then ANY other medium. I don't have an issue with having gay characters in comics, I do however have a big problem with them continuously turning already well establish heterosexual characters gay. Why can't Spider-Man be gay? Easy answer...Spider-Man is NOT gay. Why not make a new character weather it be hero or villain and make said new character be gay.
