Symbiotic costume, perhaps? Maybe we'll get the incarnation of Venom he deserves

What do you mean by original? Because it is distinct enough to separate it from the original trilogy.

For some people maybe. But one of the most frequent criticisms Amazing got was how much it borrowed from Spider-Man and Batman Begins. We really didn't need to drag through another overlong origin story. I thought it started off pretty promising, but by the time I left the theater all I could say was 'meh.'

I will admit though, Emma Stone knocked it out of the park.

I don't think this teaser necessarily suggests at all the black suit.

But there was another teaser saying #HappyBirthday with a morgue picture. It's a milestone year for the character Venom and it was the guy playing Harry's birthday.

So I think he'll have the suit (Ultimate universe version) for this whole movie, and battle the villains while wearing it, and lose it in the end or beginning of the next movie.

    Indeed she did.

@Babs: I'm confused here Babs. How do you get "darker" from an eye piece that is clearly brighter and "lighter" than the one in the previous film?

Just my opinion but based on what I have heard so far, this movie sounds like it will eclipse Spider-Man 3 with its crappiness.

Can't wait for this movie. Love the new lenses sooo much! Have a suspicion that the picture is in black and white, I love the gold lenses better, but I don't mind white ones. Hopefully they also give the suit a traditional web pattern (curvey like theyre supposed to look, instead of straight lines crossing each other) but the same black-pressed webbing as the first one. Also no red racing stripe down his leg! Hope he gets a utility belt, and I'd love to see spider tracers on screen. I also kind of agree with iancoderre3, I'd like to see that tick-looking spider emblem on his back, ya know, the fat one. I know it's not a realistic looking spider, but it's traditional. They're most likely going to keep the same spider symbol though. Wow, I'm really excited for this movie. Hopefully electro stays as the main villain and rhino is just a throwaway, like a secondary one.

Also, I hope they just introduce the symbiote, like show a picture of it in the movie or something, and maybe a close up on the locker it's supposedly kept in. Don't unleash it until the third and have spidey fight goblin and venom in #3? (Harry=venom, Norman=gobby) just a thought. Another thing.... I wouldn't mind them naming the sequel 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' but I'd really like it if it was 'The Spectacular Spider-man' and the third be 'The Astonishing Spider-Man' or 'Ultimate Spider-Man'....(astonishing sounds better to me though) anyway, I'm done with this article lol. Can't wait till 2014

LOL.....non-story. It doesn't matter what Spidey's eye-wear or mask will look like......because he'll just run around for more than 1/2 the movie without a mask on.......so that all the teenage girls can see just how dreamy Andrew Garfield is.

Seriously, go back and check out all the screen time that Spider-Man is without a mask on it that movie...and for no real, discernible reason, either.

It's like Sony was trying to tap into that big "Twilight" money with The Amazing Spider-Man. Remember, the Twilight series was red-hot when they first began working on ASM around 2009 or so (before Joss Whedon showed everyone how to make a real super-hero movie). Can you just hear the Sony/Paramount studio execs saying, "It'll be like Twilight, only with Superheroes. It can't lose!"

Three girls, a love triangle, a dreamy Spider-Man w/no mask on, Peter's hunky friend Harry coming back....cue Twilight theme. Now they just need to roll out Dr. Michael Morbius so that they can actually have vampires, too....

This is awesome news. The eyes are becoming more classically authentic, lets just hope that the costume becomes more in-tune to its roots rather than newly designed.

@MP_SimonWilliams: That's the case with every masked superhero. Toby Maguire took his mask off (or it was torn off in a fight) countless times. It's the single biggest reason they aren't making a Deadpool movie. Not only does Hollywood need bankable actors who people can actually see, but the audience needs to actually see the actor act.

No, it doesn't always make sense but Peter Parker crying/yelling/anything that involves actual emotion is a lot more effective if you can see his face and, most importantly, his eyes... That's why Batman wears that ridiculous eye makeup in stead of just having them white.

    Darker?

Hmm... here's an idea. Make it black, give him a cape, while we're at it put spiky features on his arms... Wait, that's Batman's look? I know. Why am I bringing it up? Because if this movie and Marvel higher ups clearly have Batman in mind when doing Spider-Man now, they may as well go all out and make him completely like Batman.

What's that? There's a chance it will look like the classic look from the comic book? THEN WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST DO THAT BEFORE?!
