Amazing Spider-Man 2 director Marc Webb has already begun working on the sequel to his first Amazing Spider-Man film and he's recently taken to Twitter to tease what fans can expect to see in this next movie. Late yesterday afternoon the director posted a rather obscure video clip to Telly that gave fans a glimpse at the possible eyewear Spidey will be sporting in the upcoming movie. More than that though, the image gives the sense that the costume might be a bit different, dare we say, darker?

Webb posted the link to the video with the hash tag "Day 9. #thebettertoseeyouwith," and he's shown no sign of slowing down whatsoever. This isn't the only piece of news to come to light, however. Recently there was news of another addition to the film's cast. Actress Felicity Jones (Like Crazy) has joined the ensemble according to a recent interview with RTL Boulevard and rumor has it she will be playing Black Cat on the big screen. So Gwen, Felicia and MJ all in one movie? Sounds like a recipe for disaster in the love department for Peter Parker, but it does make things interesting. Probably some minor adjustments to the costume's look... What interests me more is the possible inclusion of Black Cat! It's probably just Felicia Hardy so that the character can be introduced with her Cat-like persona in future movies, but the introduction of both her and MJ in the same movie intrigues me!

Glad they ditched the gold lenses.

I think I remember seeing an interview with Webb stating he wanted to be "closer to the comic book costume" anyway. So I doubt this will be darker, I think it will just incorporate more of the source materials nuances into the threads.

Yeah, Webb said a long time ago that the eyes would be bigger in Amazing 2. He also said the webshooters would be "gnarly", whatever that means.

If they continue to add more characters in the movie, then the movie needs to be longer! Runtime: 2h 30m. That way, that'll give everyone enough time on the screen-play. Just saying.

I smell another Spider-Man 3 coming.. very fat chance Webb can pull this off.

I just hope this films plot isnt a mess like the first one. I liked the first film and they got the feel of the film spot on, but the plot was a disaster with all the edits and leaving things for the sequel

I was thinking the new suit would be used to fight shocker, just like how he makes new suits to help out with difficult situations

My theory: Harry and MJ are introduced as peter's friends, neither resemble their destined fate (villain and love interest respectively). They aren't featured much. Maybe MJ has a crush on Peter but nothing that relates to 'love'. If Felicity is playing Betty then she too won't be featured much and will be more of a rival to Gwen/transition phase for peter. Same goes for Felicia/Black Cat.

The costume won't be darker. Quite the opposite honestly.

After seeing this, it'll definitely look a lot better and a heck of a lot more accurate to what we see in the comics.

@BritishMonkey: accurate?? are you talking the suit or the eyes, because if there is one thing that artists use to seperate their spideys from others is the use of how they draw eyes. McFarlane blew them up and started a craze that works. Before that they were a lot more thinner. Even more still is how Gabrielle Del Otto draws them. Slim but menacing. I don't care how looks in this movie. It doesn't bother me that they changed him up. I'm and Ultimate Marvel fan and I don't mind the changes they make to characters as long as it pretty much them as a whole. The last movie was great. I hope they make another good one. It worked with the changes for Batman thats why it's working with Spider-man as well.

@cosmicwolf13: I agree totally with what you posted. The suit was pretty much what it's supposed to be. I like the changes they did. If the movie is good who cares. They kept the character true enough that I was happy. I'm over the whole staying totally true to the comics. The changes worked for pretty much every comic movie made out there. Captain America, Batman, Avengers, Iron Man. Now Spidey. Not that organic webs wasn't a change from the in the first movie. People need to get over it and worry that the script is garbage. Shit......Electro is black and I don't hear anyone complaining. I even liked the black suit from Spider-man 3. Not a Venom suit, just a regular Spider-man suit that was solid black. I wonder why we haven't seen that in the comic.

Looks slightly more like Black Cat's mask to me, but I think it would be dumb to introduce the symbiote/black suit.

I thought the spider on the back in ASM was awesome looking.

Have to agree it looked cool even though it was the same spider as the front just red.

I really liked the Amazing Spider-Man. I just hope it doesn't turn into a disaster like Spider-Man 3 was. They just jammed to meany characters in it to spend a decent amount of time developing each of them. I just really hope Webb can pull this off.

What do you mean by original? Because it is distinct enough to separate it from the original trilogy.

So they've now announced/rumored MJ, Harry, Rhino, Electro, Morbius, Black Cat, and probably more I'm forgetting, just in the second movie. The more they announced the more I'm certain this will be more than a trilogy. Also, it was said ages ago that there would be a new costume.

To me this doesn't seem "dark", it's actually the standard spidey eye piece, black edges with a white lens. Maybe Peter now has more cash so he himself upgraded the costume?

In regards to Black Cat, she might just be 1. a villain team up against Electro, 2 a cannon fodder (for now) villain take down or 3. A small cameo. (the again the same could be said about Rhino if he does show up)

I'll be there day 1. Hope Black Cat makes the cut.

No it isn't the Black Suit. Webb stated a few days ago that the new costume would be closer to the comics (bigger eyes, comic-type webshooters etc...). That picture is most likely a photo of the bigger lenses before going onto the suit.
