Usually how a Spider-Man movie starts; catch some bad guys, save the day, etc. But when he goes to see a doctor (routine check-up), a certain Dr. Miles Warren took interest in Peter's blood sample and discovered that he is Spider-Man. Rather than exploit his new discovery, he made a CLONE with the use of Peter's blood. His reason is that he could control the clone and make a huge profit out of his work. Now with the Green Goblin gone, a "fan" named Roderick Kingsley investigated and found out the connection between the Osbournes and the Goblin. He stole the goblin paraphernalia and made some modifications. He thought that the legacy of the Green Goblin must not die and that there must always be a goblin for Spider-Man to battle with, thus giving rise to the Hobgoblin. Peter's love life is still as complicated as ever. Now going back to square one on his relationship with MJ, and thinks that the scars from the previous movie has not healed, Peter finds solace within Gwen's company. Now two women are having a tug-of-war for Peter's love and he cannot decide on who to choose. The climax is that Peter confronts his clone and a fight between who will carry the name of Spider-Man. They stop and now must work together to stop a deranged Hobgoblin from killing Gwen and MJ on top of the Washington Bridge (he took them as a random hostage, much like Dok Ock took Aunt May in Spider-Man 2). When the real Spider-Man wanted to save them both, he had to choose on who to save first. Peter save MJ first, but when he goes to save Gwen much like how he did in the comics, He find out that her neck snap from the force of the fall and died instantaneously, while the clone fight Hobgoblin. Much like the confrontation of Spider-Man and Green Goblin in the first movie, Hobgoblin tried to kill him in the same manner, (Hobgoblin use a gas that blocks out Peter's spider-sense, much like what he did in the comics). But in the very last moment, the clone jumped out and pushed Peter out of the way and got himself and Hobgoblin impaled. The clone's dying wish was to be beside "their" uncle and wanted to be named after the two most important people in his life, thus he didn't die as a clone, but as Ben Reilly. Eventually Miles Warren got arrested for illegal cloning as evidenced by witness accounts of the two Spider-Man fighting all over New York and data about the cloning process given by the Ben Reilly to the police as an anonymous tip from a flashback. The movie ends with a cemetery scene (again?!) in Gwen's burial and Ben Reilly's ashes (he got cremated, because too much people are being buried so I chose this..) being laid in Ben Parker's grave, With Peter and MJ holding hands together, paying their last respects on the people that matter the most...
I wanted to do some side plots but could think of anything other than the main plot itself.
