A lot of people are talking about the events from today's SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN. We're not going to talk about those developments here but before AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #698 was released, there was some debate as to who the Spider-Man would be in this title.

As a joke, Dan Slott tweeted to artist Ryan Stegman the following:

This immediately got people talking. Since then, Dan has admitted it was a joke. In a video interview at MTV, he did sincerely apologize for it. To make up for it with Spider-Man 2099 fans, he also included the following statement:

This is not a trick, this is not a prank. You will see Miguel O'Harra in SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN.

What does this mean? How could this happen?

By now, we should know when it comes to Dan Slott and Spider-Man, anything is possible.

I think Miguel might be an alias at this point to hide information better. Like calling Wondy, Isis.

Should be interesting. A thought occured to me earlier when I was reading Superior Spider-Man. Since Ock has Spidey's memories, I wondered if Ock would try to go to the Ultimate Marvel world & try to manipulate Miles. The interaction between Ock & Miguel should be interesting.

I have but one question. WHY COULDN'T THIS HAVE HAPPENED INSTEAD?!?!??!?! WHY?!?!?!??! Why couldn't An alternate version of Miguel, like the one from Exiles, get stuck in the mainstream Marvel universe and ends up accidentally inhabiting the body of Peter?! It would have explained the artificial claws as Miguel would most likely add those as he's use to them.

Is this a PERFECT idea? No, but it's infinitely less rage inducing!!! This will be the ONLY reason I'll be buying more Superior and that's for Miguel.

I bought the first issue of Superior and no thank. I am done with it. It did NOTHING to make me believe this was a good idea. The ONLY thing that made me happy was....

Peter's spirit being tied to his body and thus being able to stop Ock from crossing the line and doing MORE damage to his reputation than what he'd be able to do otherwise

he always had talons on his fingers, that much I remember. iirc they are retractable.

as for the spikes on his arms, judging by the covers, he always had those too. Whether they are retractable or just part of his costume, not entirely sure.

If Slott is doing a story similar to Edge of Time, I'll be upset. Not pissed, just dissapointed he can't find better material(aside from issue 700, but who cares about my opinion?)

I have a feeling that Miguel is going to have to come back to the past and help fix Spidey getting Peter back in his body. I have to say that is an interesting story

I feel like this new series will be a culmination of everything we love about Spider-Man, past and present. It will be a celebration of all things Spidey, as Doc Ock learns to become a friendly neighborhood menace to society :P. The new change with Ock could possibly effect the future, so it will be cool to see Miguel again!

Not that I'm voicing an opinion on this idea in general. But what is it with Marvel and time travel recently?

Besides this fucking idea of ruining this spiderman he wants to fuck his future too. Let's reveal some small truths unsaid.

Revealed truth of TOP MAN-ARANHA.Peter Parker is trapped inside his own body (our nobody expected this ). When Will he be able to fight and eventually regain control over the villain Doctor Octopus? And how long will he be able to stop the murderous attitudes Octopus?! Who will be the next victim to be devoured?

This can only be a sick sexual fantasy Slott do a threesome with the two young men in the house of the 25 that have just come out of adolescence, that the urge to vomit.

As we already knew, I was the guy that lower Spiderman would not last long as another YEAR, Peter did not die stuck (his SOUL / MIND) in your own body having to fight to prevent the OCK-ARAN kill people around or does not comply with its promise of being a ridiculous spiderman LESS ... I say more. This shows that everyone expected, Slott besides SHIT do not have the courage to continue with your ridiculous idea of replacing by Peter Octop, ie Slott and writer BAD as hell and a moral coward who does not even have to defend what you write!

I actualy just finished the first issue of Superior Spider-man and to be honest I wasn't too impressed. Not sure if I will be reading it for long, but I'll give it a few more issues to see if it's subscription worthy; however, this I may just check out.

There was a time travel machine that got a two-part arc earlier.

This is how Miguel comes in. Probably.

They are reeaally milking this Time Travel thing. I kinda want them to just bring back his own series.

Finally, Miguel may return. I can wait.

Now that Doc Ock is Peter Parker..... Anyone else remember the ending of Spider-Man: The Edge of Time? Peter was evil in the future and used a suit with four giant spider-legs. The bio for Doc Ock(the 2099 girl one) said she became the new Doc Ock after she learned Doc Ock killed the original spider-man. But she works for Peter Parker so how else could the "original spider-man" die if it didn't use the superior story line? minds blown!

Wait whaaaaat? Miguel is showing up in Superior Spider-Man? Now this is interesting. I wonder how Slott will execute this story? Well in any case I'm getting more interested in Superior Spider-Man now as a result of this.

how can they kill pete of so easily when the bloody movie series is going to be all peter parker? It's kinda obvious that pete was never really going to die. Just a Plot induced plot for a future plot.... *gasps* =0... plotcept... nah a predictable plot
