"And Spider-Man says he has bad luck..."
Synopsis:Anya goes through an all out war between both spiders and The Society of the Wasps.
-What's Good?
You know, it's pretty cool to see Spider-Girl lead an army of ninjas, and the situation was different, I'm pretty sure Anya would admit that it is cool. The action heats up with this issue with an all out battle between both spiders and wasps with a couple of surprises on the way.
Pepe Larraz's artwork shines in what I think is his best work in this tie-in. It rivals Humberto Ramos exaggerated cartoon style in the main event book. Spider-Girl's movement is fluid and fun to look at along with the way The Society of Wasp and spiders look. The action is pretty well done.
-What's Bad?
I was kind of expecting Anya to lead an attack on The Queen instead of just smashing bugs. The ending is a bit of a cop-out when it comes to Kingpin and Ayna. I could accept Kingpin losing his memory when he took the cure, but telling Anya that, "Yeah, I'm just going to forget that you're Spider-Girl and won't ever bring it up again", was unoriginal. I was also confused when it came to Anya's powers. Since the infestation gave her powers, and she took the cure, why does she still have Spider-powers? I have my own theory why she still have her powers, but it just wasn't made clear.
Overall:
This wasn't a bad tie-in, Since she does have powers, I do wish her ongoing title would continue. But I hear she's going to be making some appearances in Avengers Academy.
