During the Speed Force storm, Chinese-American teenager Avery Ho gained super-speed like The Flash. She was mentored by Barry Allen and Meena Dhawan (who would later become The Negative Flash) and chose to keep her speed powers after most others didn't. She later got taken in by China White and tricked into joining the China White Triad. She turned against China White in the end though, and joined the Justice League of China as The Flash of China.
Having discovered his mother murdered and his father blamed for the act, forensic scientist Barry Allen sought to clear his father's name and find the real killer. After being doused in chemicals and struck by lightning, Barry was granted the gift of super-speed. Now he protects his hometown of Central City as The Flash, the fastest man alive and founding member of the Justice League.

The Original Super-Speedster, Jay Garrick is the first to use the name Flash. Jay Garrick's legend inspired Barry Allen, and his heroism continues to inspire today as a stalwart member of the JSA.
